It’s an open question for now who actually ends up in EA Sports College Football 25, but it doesn’t mean folks on the forums are not already dreaming about who they might get a chance to use once the summer rolls around.
The added element to this — for better or worse — is that folks are also thinking about Ultimate Team to some extent because it’s a foregone conclusion it will be present in EA’s game as well. So it’s not just present-day college players people have been dreaming about, they’re also thinking about former greats wearing the jersey once more.
With that in mind, OS user Madden08PCgmr pointed out just some of the potential names that could make it into EA Sports College Football 25:
- Barry Sanders
- Charles Woodson
- Peter Warrick
- Charlie Ward
- Mike Vick
- Corey Dillon
- Ron Dayne
- Ricky Williams
The list of former legends could be crazy, and that’s why we probably undersell how lucrative this college game could be by tapping in to that nostalgia — even if it’s obviously a bit predatory considering how desperate many of us are to just be playing a college football game again.
In the present day, it’s certainly a fair share of QBs making people’s lists so far, and I have my own list that would include Liberty QB Kaidon Salter. Mobile quarterbacks just hit different in the college football games in the past — maybe because it feels like your QBs really can be do-it-all monsters — and so using an all-purpose QB from a smaller school is right up my alley.
In the end, it’s going to be out of EA’s hands to some extent who actually makes it into the game so we’ll have to keep track of things once April and May roll around to see how the rosters are looking, but in the interim it’s fun to dream about the possibilities.
