Palworld developer Pocketpair has released two updates back-to-back. This is fantastic from the developer and is something that the game’s wonderful community truly appreciates. It implements many fixes, and the update is great news for Palworld fans upset over the breeding bug introduced in the last patch that was released only a couple of days ago.

We have the new update 0.1.5.1 patch notes available online. It shares the same identity as the patch launched earlier in the week, but this 0.1.5.1 patch is new and needs to be downloaded. Unfortunately, it doesn’t revert the massive fix that had fans screaming ‘no’ in despair, nor does it roll back a popular bug Pocketpair is sorry for fixing.

What the patch does do is roll back a controversial fix as promised by developer Pocketpair. The update has come out as swiftly as intended, and it’s great news for fans who wish to breed pals to create weird concoctions.

New Palworld update fixes breeding bug

The new Palworld update 0.1.5.1. patch fixes the breeding bug that was introduced in the 0.1.5.1 patch that was released on February 27th. The original update that was released a couple of two days ago introduced a fix where certain species would ‘Always have a fixed passive’ after breeding.

Now, as per the new update’s patch notes shared by Palworld_EN, this fix or bug has been reverted. This means no species should have any fixed passives after breeding going forward. This is excellent news for fans who were a tad miffed by the restrictions.

As reported by fans to the Pocketpair Discord, the issue with forced passives is that it stifled creativity and people’s playstyle. It was also considered a big nerf to crossbreed pals thanks to species such as Relaxaurus always having Glutton and Cattiva always possessing coward.

Over on the game’s subreddit, fans have reacted to the new patch notes with understandable glee. Many fans agreed with the sentiment that ‘Now I can resume breeding and condensing properly,’ and one fan specifically cherishes the freedom of being able to ‘get rid of the recessive COWARD genes from my Cattivas‘.

In addition to rolling back this breeding bug, the other pal-related issue the update fixes is ‘the increase in condensation progress was incorrect when using Pal of rank 2 or higher as a condensation material (it will increase by the number of Pals used in previous condensation)’.

In other Palworld news, a fan has found a secret unused dungeon that you can build a base inside. There is an ongoing competition for fans to win a custom Palworld Xbox console and controller, and Pocketpair has good news for fans craving new content.

Palworld is available on Steam, along with Xbox and PC via Xbox Game Pass.
