- Refining Items in Skull and Bones
Before heading out into the high seas of Skull and Bones, it is always important for players to make the right preparation for the trials and tribulations that lie ahead. It is never going to be a good time to find yourself out at sea without the right equipment and being ill-prepared for an encounter, and having better weapons and parts will make life easier for any pirate.
As such, most of the time, the raw materials harvested from the world and obtained as spoils just will not cut it anymore, as later upgrades will require more specialized materials to be crafted. This is where the Refinery back at Sainte-Anne comes into play, allowing players to refine items into more advanced forms. This is how to find the Refinery and start the process of refining items in Skull and Bones.
Skull and Bones: When Does Season 1 Start?
Players who are excited to jump into Season 1 of Skull and Bones can find details on when it starts and what it adds to the game here.
Finding the Refinery in Skull and Bones
Once players have docked at Sainte-Anne, the Refinery will be to the left of the docks, nestled among the other artisans who are masters at their craft. On the map, it is at the northern tip of the settlement, just opposite the Blacksmith and next to the cooking pot.
Once there, players can speak to Vera van Wessel, who will explain the refining process to anyone eager to pick up the much-needed knowledge. Further into the game, a second Refinery can be found in Telok Penjarah, this time on the northwestern part of the settlement.
Refining Items in Skull and Bones
Essentially, the refining process takes all raw materials gathered by the player and further refines them into more useful and advanced materials that can be used for crafting. This refers to materials like wood logs, ore, jute, and the like, and going to the Refinery allows all of that to be turned into something more complicated, like planks, ingots, and more.
This is not a process that takes place instantaneously. Having chosen the material to be refined, players will have to assign that particular process to a worker. At the start, there will only be a single worker available, but as you rise in Infamy and gain ranks, more slots will be opened up.
The time required, as well as the cost in silver, will also be displayed, allowing players to know exactly how long it will take for the process to complete. Do note that the process is not a one-to-one exchange, with advanced materials usually requiring several pieces of raw materials to make. Once the process begins, you are free to pursue other adventures until the next time you drop by to collect your refined items.
