Helldivers 2 is giving its players a major boost this weekend, as until Sunday, February 18, 2024, fans can enjoy XP and Requisition granted at a 50% multiplier on top of their base mission score. This boost is to make up for a bug that is causing players to not receive the proper rewards at a mission’s end.
The XP boost was announced on the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account in a message outlining the reason for the XP boost, and how it will work. The post was written by Deputy Game Director Sagar Beroshi, who stated “We’re aware of a problem that has caused some player rewards to not pay out at the end of missions.”
“We are working on a fix for this, but in the meantime, we want to try to alleviate the impact as we head into the weekend.” The message continues with the announcement of the 50% multiplier, and how players can tell it is active.
The post goes on to explain that players will be able to tell the multiplier is on by seeing the “Accounting Corrections” Game Master Effect while they’re on the Super Destroyer. When this Game Master Effect is active, players will earn XP and Requisition at the boosted rate.
To end the post, they thanked players for their patience and support and told players to “get back down there, Helldivers,” to finish off the message.
With the XP and Requisition boost, players can earn a huge amount of rewards and rank up much faster. While this does not entirely make up for the glitch that is not rewarding players with their loot, it does certainly help.
The good news is that the dev team is aware of the issue, and is currently working on a solution. While there’s no official time frame, given that the XP boost is just for the weekend, it’s likely that a patch within the next week will be dropped to fix it.
Until then, players can use the 50% multiplier to help make up for the loss of the rewards. This multiplier will be removed at the end of the day on February 18 (CET), making it a limited-time event. Players should take full advantage of the XP boost and get back to fighting Automatons.
