Palworld is easily the biggest game of the year so far. Its success has been a huge surprise for the video games industry with over 19 million players joining the adventure in only a few weeks after launch. In light of this overwhelming success, Palworld has recently received a significant player drop, but, although newsworthy, fans and developer Pocketpair shouldn’t be worried yet.
Although the game is only early access, there is plenty of content to enjoy. Fans have shared an easy trick to complete dungeons in a minute or even less, and the community has shared the best base location that nobody is using. In addition, for getting the best pals available, a breeding tree reveals the most OP pal for unlocking the most powerful creatures.
Whether it be farming, hunting, building bases, butchering, or caring for pals instead, the game has an incredibly addictive loop designed to keep the community’s attention. It’s true that the survival epic has faced a rather steep player drop since launch, but Palworld is still remarkably successful and there’s no reason for fans to sound the alarm.
Palworld player drop shouldn’t worry fans
Plaworld has received significant declines in player count on PC and Xbox. Trueachievements reports the game has lost over 40% of players in just two weeks, meanwhile, Steamdb shows the game’s daily 24-hour peak has significantly dropped, too. In addition to all of this, Windowscentral reports that Palworld viewership on Twitch has dropped by 65%.
Concerning Steam specifically, the Steamdb chart shows that its 24-hour peak has significantly declined on a daily basis. For example, the 24-hour peak on February 11th was over 756,000, on February 12th it was over 609,000, and on February 13th it was just over 574,000.
Now, it is a little concerning that we can see the daily 24-hour peak on Steam getting lower and lower. However, although the decline is evident, fans and Pocketpair needn’t worry yet as Palworld is still second in the Steamdb concurrent users chart for most played games. It is massively behind Counterstrike 2, but it is ahead of juggernauts such as DOTA 2 and PUBG Battlegrounds.
In addition to being the second most played game on Steam, fans also needn’t worry as the game’s future is very bright. Xbox has committed to partnering with Palworld to bring a heavily-requested PC-exclusive feature to console, and a Pocketpair developer has reassured fans worried about the game dying due to the extreme server costs.
Not only all of the above, but an update on developer Pocketpair shows that they intend to get bigger and are recruiting more staff to specifically work on Palworld. They want more staff to better stabilize and fix the game, but they also need more staff to deliver all of the additional content promised in the roadmap.
For more Palworld news, a developer has finally responded to a big issue that needs updates to fix. Fans have very limited time remaining to win $100 gift cards from Pocketpair, and we have the patch notes for the most recent 0.1.4 and 0.1.1.4 updates on Steam and Xbox.
Palworld is available on Steam, Xbox, and Game Pass. Pocketpair has warned about downloading anything claiming to be related to the game on iOS and Android.
