An entertaining game-themed cake made for a fan of Destiny 2 has delighted the community. The homemade cake, made for the recipient’s birthday, creatively uses a Destiny 2 Titan action figure and its accessories to make for an amusing scene.
Cute, decorated birthday cakes and other pastries are a classic element of birthday celebrations the world over. Cakes based on video games are almost as old as the medium itself. And with Bungie’s shared-world shooter being around long enough to be a significant part of many of its players’ lives, Destiny has joined other classic titles as a beloved birthday cake theme.

Destiny 2 Fan Receives A Titan Birthday Cake
The celebrant in question is user Highvoltage1177 on the Destiny 2 subreddit, who received a creative cake on their 21st birthday from their girlfriend and shared photos for the community to enjoy. The cake uses as its centerpiece an action figure from the McFarlane Toys Destiny Guardian series. The Vault of Glass Titan was posed lying face down, as if killed during a heated raid encounter. As standard with the action figure’s kit, the Titan’s Gjallarhorn exotic rocket launcher and exotic Invective shotgun, as well as the Titan’s disabled Ghost companion were scattered about the surface, perhaps awaiting revival from a luckier member of the fireteam.
The community reacted with delight, congratulating the celebrant on their birthday and praising their girlfriend for the heartfelt gift. One comment suggested Highvoltage1177 treat their relationship like a Destiny 2 God Roll weapon by upgrading it to “Masterwork” marriage status and locking it in, so it can never be dismantled or discarded. Commenters joked about the presence of crayons on the cake’s surface, recounting jokes made in the community that Titans tend to eat crayons. Some suggested that it wasn’t the enemy that did this particular Titan in, but indigestion.
Other players noticed the presence of the Invective exotic shotgun in the scene and recalled its power in the original game, renewing some long-standing calls to bring weapons like Invective and Ice Breaker into Destiny 2. Though Bungie has revived numerous Destiny exotic weapons and armor for inclusion in Destiny 2, Invective and Ice Breaker are still exclusive to the older game’s armory. In previous responses to the requests, Bungie representatives remarked that Ice Breaker and Invective posed a headache for balancing, particularly in competitive play where the relative scarcity of the special ammo needed to use certain weapons is a check on their power. Since Invective and Ice Breaker’s notable quality was a passive form of ammo regeneration, they could threaten the ammo economy in-game. Time will tell if that philosophy will continue to hold as Destiny 2 gears up for its upcoming expansion, or if Invective will remain on cakes instead of in Destiny 2 Guardians’ hands.
