Electronic Arts is set to release Apex Legends season 20. Named Breakout, the update is very exciting for the community as it will deliver a new battle pass along with significant gameplay changes. There isn’t a new map or playable character, but the Apex Legends season 20 patch notes include the addition of a long-awaited feature.
It’s been a solid year so far for the Apex community. In January fans were treated to a sublime LTM crossover with Final Fantasy, and this included a bunch of fantastic skins and cosmetics resembling the iconic JRPG franchise from Square Enix. Unfortunately, despite the game’s fun start to the year, some Apex players now favor The Finals more.
The Finals is an excellent multiplayer game with its own unique style, pros, and cons, and the same is true about Apex Legends. While fans have complained about the Electronic Arts multiplayer shooter before, fans are very happy that some long-awaited additions, tweaks, and fixes are being introduced in season 20.
Apex Legends season 20 adds long-awaited feature
Electronic Arts has shared the full patch notes for Apex Legends season 20. The release date and start time for the update is 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET/ 6 PM GMT on February 13th. While the new battle pass is exciting, the chapter doesn’t include a new playable character or a new map.
Rather than introducing a fresh-faced Legend or a unique playground, the update is instead largely focused on additions, fixes, and quality-of-life improvements. Reacting to the patch notes on Reddit, fans are thrilled that the update finally adds the ability to mute squad members while spectating.
Players not having access to the squad menu when you die has ‘been a problem since launch, especially when you have toxic teammates,’ so it’s understandable fans are thrilled this small, but great, feature has been added. Another small improvement that is making fans happy is ‘Most in-game dialogue is now synchronized between clients‘.
Away from the above additions and improvements, players are also intrigued by Respawn fixing a ring exploit. Per the patch notes, ‘players spending too much time outside the ring will be warned, then eliminated’. This is a good quality-of-life improvement and fix, but players find it ‘Odd that they didn’t list the maximum amount of time we can spend in Ring before being eliminated‘.
Lastly, the update also delivers heavy buffs for Ballistic along with nerfs for the Reaper. Fans have commented that ‘90 meters on Ballistic Ult is wild‘ and that his ‘sling is so much more viable, but will go super under the radar‘.
