Palworld has easily been the biggest game of the year so far. While the rising popularity at launch was meteoric, now it has quietly settled at a hugely healthy player count. It will continue to grow again as it adds more content and eventually leaves early access, and an update for Palworld developer Pocketpair is great news for fans.
The future of the game is massively exciting, but there’s plenty to enjoy right now. The developer is prioritizing bug fixes and stability right now, but an update on the status of Pocketpair is great news for the game’s future.
Palworld developer Pocketpair update
Palworld developer Pocketpair has shared interesting news on the game’s Palworld_JP Twitter account. Pocketpair is not a juggernaut developer and the massive success of the game has taken the world by surprise. The development team is nowhere big enough to handle all of the strain and demand from its huge fanbase, but they are looking to expand.
‘There are still many things I want to do in Palworld, but we are severely lacking in friends!,’ says a translated post on Palworld_JP. ‘We are recruiting for all positions, but we are especially looking for planning/engineering positions! It doesn’t matter what engine you have experience with, so if you are interested in creating a completely new game, please apply!’
The above Twitter post is great and exciting news for the community. For one, it shows the developer is quickly expanding and set on becoming bigger, and two, it shows a commitment to sticking with the game and improving it. The most recent updates were 0.1.4 and 0.1.1.4 on Steam and Xbox, which fixed the worst ever bug as well as a fatal breeding bug.
In addition to just fixes, the developer is committed to bringing additional content. Xbox is partnering with Palworld to bring a heavily-requested PC exclusive feature to console, and the developer has revealed how many more future bosses are currently in-development. Not only that, but a fan has found a secret future pal that heavily resembles an iconic Legendary baddie from Pokémon.
And, as if all of the above wasn’t enough, the developer is also set on adding more islands as well as gameplay features. There’s no specific timeline on when all of this will be added, but it will hopefully occur within the year especially as Pocketpair is expanding and growing. Although easy for some to forget, it’s always important to remember the game is only early access right now.
