Gliding is an amazing mechanic in Palworld that will help the player cross large distances in a fraction of the time. While it might not be the ideal way of traveling, it is certainly one that comes in handy in various situations. Although seasoned players might figure it out on their own, there are always those who need help and if you’re one of them, read on.
Palworld: How to Find and Catch Woolipop
Here’s everything you need to know about Woolipops – a neutral Pal that has become a fan favorite due to their cute appearance.
Here’s what the player needs to know about how to glide, and the different types of gliders available.
Gliding In Palworld
Gliding in Palworld can be an effective way to travel long distances in some circumstances. This mechanic in the game allows you to travel in the air for a limited amount of time until you reach the ground, and there’s no single way to achieve that in Palworld, as there are many different types of gliders.
To Glide, the player must jump off the ground to an area they can glide, and in mid-air, the player must jump again. This can be achieved on a PC with the space bar.
It’s important to keep in mind that in Palworld, Gliding consumes stamina. If the player is in mid-air gliding and their stamina runs out, they will free fall. The player can also, however, deactivate gliding themselves mid-air by pressing on the crouch or jump button.
To move around while gliding, you simply have to control it like you would with your character if they were on the ground. The glide will slowly go down and it will depend on the altitude and the player’s stamina how long the glider can stay in the air.
While in the air, you typically cannot do anything, such as call for your Pals or throw Pal Spheres.
Now that you know how to glide, you must get a gliding item or a Pal that allows you to glide.
Normal Gliders
There are two general types of Gliders in Palworld, one is fully made of materials, and the other relies on a Pal. When it comes to normal Gliders, there are 3 in the game. The more advanced the Glider here, the faster it is.
Normal Parachute
“Glider for soaring through the air. Cheaply made and not so fast.”
The first glider the player will have access to, this one is quite slow, but will make do very early on. The player will be able to unlock this glider at level 5 with 2 Technology points.
Mega Glider
“Glider for soaring through the air. Although it’s a mass-produced model, it performs decently. Can be made at High Quality Workbench.”
At level 18, the player will be able to unlock the Mega Glider, which is a way better glider than the normal parachute. With 2 technology ponies and a High-Quality Bench, the player can easily craft this.
Giga Glider
“Glider for soaring through the air. Very fast with improved capabilities. Can be made at Production
Line Factory.”
At level 40, the player can unlock this advanced Glider, though it will be nowhere near accessible for a huge chunk of the game. With a Production Line Factory, the player should unlock this Giga Glider with 3 technology points and try it out.
Glider Pals
These Gliders rely on Pals to work. A limited number of Pals are able to help the player glide in the air, however, to glide with them, you need to craft their respective Gloves to hold onto the Pals in mid-air.
Celaray – Zephyr Glider
“Allows Celaray to be used as a glider. Each level increases the base gliding speed and decreases stamina drain and the rate at which you fall while gliding.”
At level 7, the player will be able to unlock Celaray’s Gloves only after they’ve captured Celaray.
Palworld: How to Find and Catch Univolt
Here’s everything you need to know about Univolt, an electric Pal in Pocketpair’s hit open-world game Palworld.
With these gloves in hand, the player can utilize Celaray’s Partner Skill, Zephyr Glider. This glider is available early on in the game and is one of the best ones overall when it comes to speed.
Killamari – Fried Squid
“Allows Killamari to be used as a glider. Each level increases the base gliding speed, and decreases stamina drain and the rate at which you fall while gliding.”
A bit later at level 9, you can make Killamari’s Gloves, granted that you have already captured a Killamari. To use Killamari for gliding, the player simply needs its gloves to make use of its partner skill, Fried Squid.
Hangyu – Flying Trapeze
“Allows Hangyu to be used as a glider. Hangyu gives the player a short upward burst when used. Each level increases the base gliding speed and decreases stamina drain and the rate at which you fall while gliding.”
Later at level 20, you will be able to craft Hangyu’s Gloves. After catching a Hangyu and crafting these gloves, you can hold onto it and glide using their partner skill, Flying Trapeze. Hangyu specifically can help you up by blasting you into the air, giving you extra altitude.
Galeclaw – Galeclaw Rider
“Allows Galeclaw to be used as a glider. Each level increases the base gliding speed and decreases stamina drain and the rate at which you fall while gliding. Guns can be fired while gliding with Galeclaw.”
The player will need to catch a Galeclaw before being able to craft its matching gloves, Galeclaw’s gloves, which are unlocked at level 23. With these gloves, you can hold onto Galeclaw and make use of its partner skill, known as Galeclaw Rider.
Galeclaw is unique as it allows you to use guns while gliding with him, but also, Galeclaw is, perhaps, the fastest glider in the game, so definitely a must-have Pal for gliding.
Hangyu Cryst – Winter Trapeze
“Allows Hangyu Cryst to be used as a glider. Hangyu Cryst gives the player a short upward burst when used. Each level increases the base gliding speed, and decreases stamina drain and the rate at which you fall while gliding.”
When you reach level 31, Hangyu Cryst Gloves become available to craft, with the condition that you have a Hangyu Cryst captured already. To glide with Hangyu Cryst, the player needs to use its partner skill, Winter Trapeze after getting its gloves.
Hangyu Cryst is similar to regular Hangyu, but a better Glider overall. It also provides the player with an upward blast to help out, making it useful in areas with less altitude to go from.
Normal Gliders or Glider Pals?
Normal gliders are the better option if you want to conserve its Pal slots for powerful Pals, as Glider Pals take up a slot and aren’t as good offensively as other, more powerful Pals. Giga Glider will be an amazing option when you unlock it, though that will take a while.
Some Pal Gliders offer special features, which might be preferable, such as Hangyu’s Burst or the ability to use guns while gliding with Galeclaw. So, it all depends on what you want to do at the moment. If simply exploring, Pal Gliders are definitely better, but if planning to fight a boss, a normal glider might be the better option, it also all depends on your level and what’s available to you during your playthrough.
