When it comes to Genshin Impact characters, the existing varieties aren’t only limited to rarity and Vision. They can also be distinguished by their gameplay difficulties and even building standards, where some Genshin Impact units are tremendously difficult to build, while some others are rather effortless.
The Unwritten Rules of Playing Genshin Impact’s Chevreuse Explained
With the reruns of Raiden Shogun and Yoimiya comes Chevreuse, a new Pyro polearm four-star who focuses on the Overloaded reaction in-game.
This difficulty includes both their suitable weapon and their Artifact demand, where a character that eases both tasks can be considered an F2P-friendly character. Fans who would like to know the most F2P-friendly characters in Genshin Impact can check out this article for the shortlist.
Updated on February 11, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: F2P-friendly characters are crucial in any account in Genshin Impact, since you can’t always farm and pull for every unit’s need. Sometimes, it’s good to get a character that doesn’t require much work and all the ingredients to make them great already exist in your account. Luckily, as the game expands and more mechanics are introduced, more characters become more friendly to use. For that, this list will be updated to include five new entries that are notably strong, yet, very easy to build and use.
16 Shenhe
Just Stack On Attack
Shenhe is a Support that can notably increase her Cryo teammates’ damage based on her ATK. For that, stacking as much ATK% as possible is the best way to build Shenhe in Genshin Impact. Since she doesn’t need Crit, building Shenhe with a full set of ATK% weapons and artifacts is both crucial and F2P friendly, since it’s easier to find these artifacts and weapons lying around.
15 Yelan
HP/Hydro/Crit Or Full HP Work Fine
Yelan is both powerful and only requires a small investment to utilize. Her moveset scales with HP, which means players can easily gain her Artifacts without much struggle. As for her weapons, she performs amazingly, even with free options like Favonius Warbow, Fading Twilight, and even the 3-Star Genshin Impact weapon, Recurve Bow.
Additionally, while upgrading all of Yelan’s talent is not a bad idea, her main strength exists in her Elemental Burst, so budget players can neglect her Skill and Normal Attack without losing too much of Yelan’s DPS.
14 Ganyu
Boss Artifact + F2P Weapon
Depending on her Charged attacks, Ganyu is a Cryo unit who can deliver hard-hitting damage with almost any Bow in her hands. Unlike most Bow users in Genshin Impact, Ganyu can deal exceptional damage with F2P weapons like Prototype Crescent, for example. Her best-in-slot artifacts are 4pc Wanderer Troupe, which is a set that you get from almost every encounter on the map. As for her team, place any shielder with any buffer and Ganyu is good to go. Ganyu is truly a unique F2P-friendly character to have in Genshin Impact.
13 Arataki Itto
Who Doesn’t Have DEF Pieces?
Arataki Itto may not be as “budget” as Yelan when it comes to his talents, but his artifacts and weapons are both F2P friendly. When it comes to talent investment, he ideally should have both his Elemental Burst and Normal Attack upgraded, with his Skill being optional.
For his weapon, Arataki Itto is F2P friendly because other than his best-in-slot, Redhorn Stonethresher, players can use Genshin Impact forgeable weapon, Whiteblind. This 4-Star Claymore can perform better than some 5-Star options thanks to the Oni’s DEF scaling.
12 Xingqiu
Just Have 100% Burst Uptime
Xingqiu is not the easiest to build, but his tremendous value easily puts him on this list. As a 4-Star unit, Travelers can easily maximize his Constellation, and anyone who has reached the endgame will at least have a C0 Xingqiu.
The Extinct Civilizations of Genshin Impact Explained
Genshin Impact’s world-building knows no bounds, and with its numerous extinct kingdoms, there’s much to dig up and find out about in the lore.
For his build, Xingqiu can either use 4pc Noblesse Oblige to act as a buffer or 4pc Emblem of Severed Fate for a full Sub-DPS role. Finally, the Guhua Disciple’s best-in-slot weapon is the 4-Star Sacrificial Sword. Although this equipment is not exactly F2P, it’s still a 4-Star Sword.
11 Gorou
Literally Needs Nothing
Gorou is a highly niche support that only works with a few Genshin Impact characters. So, in terms of usefulness, he falls behind. But, when it comes to being F2P friendly, there are several reasons why Gorou is great.
First, he practically requires no Artifact. Gorou grants DEF buff to his team, but this only scales with his talent level, not his own DEF. Travelers don’t have to build him for damage or healing either. Second, since he scales with DEF, the only bow that he’d need are ones that grant Energy Recharge sub-stat. Finally, his DEF buff scales with the level of his Elemental Skill, which means both his Burst and Normal Attack talents can be ignored completely.
10 Fischl
Does Her Job Even With Little Investment
Fischl was already great before Golden Troupe, but now that she can have that set, Fischl has become one of the best 4-Star units in Genshin Impact. Since so many characters work well with Marechaussee Hunter and Golden Troupe, farming this domain is a must to enhance any account in the game. So, finding a 4pc Golden Troupe for Fischl should not be a problem. Additionally, she works well with any Bow given to her. She can wield Alley Hunter, The Stringless, or even Song of Stillness and perform exceptionally well as an off-field Sub-DPS unit.
9 Albedo
Another DEF Character
Among the available F2P-friendly characters, Albedo is easily one of the most qualified. The Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius is an amazing Sub-DPS whose Skill scales with DEF. Considering the abundance of DEF Artifacts during Artifact farming, building Albedo will be a piece of cake. His current best-in-slot Artifact is Husk of Opulent Dreams, but he can work great even with random sets.
As for his weapons, players can use the free Sword, Cinnabar Spindle. For those who missed the event, they can let Albedo wield the 3-Star Genshin Impact weapon, Harbinger of Dawn instead.
8 Sangonomiya Kokomi
Versatile Healer With Easy Equipment
Another contender for the title of the most F2P-friendly character is the Priestess of Watatsumi Island, Sangonomiya Kokomi. Getting Ocean-Hued Clam pieces can be quite difficult, but as a healer, players can simply throw any HP Artifact on her. Even without utilizing her damage-dealing abilities, Kokomi can effortlessly be a top-tier healer.
Genshin Impact: The Healer Tier List And Tips For Using Them
Genshin Impact’s healers have one of the most important jobs in the game. This tier list identifies the best of the bunch.
If players insist on getting Ocean-Hued Clam, the Priestess can still be considered F2P-friendly. This is because Travelers won’t need to get Critical Rate stats, making her stat ceiling rather low. Kokomi’s suitable Catalysts are also easy to get. F2P players can either use Prototype Amber or Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers for her.
7 Barbara
Your Typical Healer
The Favonius Church’s Sister is far more F2P-friendly than Kokomi. Similar to Sangonomiya Kokomi, players can equip Barbara with random HP Artifacts, but the Nun won’t even need any specific set as her best-in-slot. Players can either use random sets, 4-Maiden Beloved, or 2-Maiden Beloved + 2-Ocean-Hued Clam.
As well as being a 4-Star character, Barbara is best used without considering any damage-dealing abilities, so Travelers won’t have to worry about wasting her potential. Moreover, unlike Sangonomiya Kokomi whose best Catalyst is a 5-Star weapon, Everlasting Moonglow, Barbara is best wielding the 3-Star Catalyst, Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers.
6 Kuki Shinobu
Any Elemental Mastery Pieces
While she’s a healer, she’s also a great damage dealer with minimal effort and build. Put Kuki with any Hydro and Dendro units to create Bloom cores for her, and she’ll do the rest with her Electro application, creating a continuous amount of Hyperbloom in Genshin Impact. To maximize her healing and Hyperbloom damage, just give her any Elemental Mastery you can find (whether it’s her weapon or artifacts, they all work) and she’s good to go.
For weapons, Iron Sting is an F2P forgeable weapon in Genshin Impact. As for artifacts, Flower of Paradise Lost is her best, but she can work fine with any 2pc Elemental Mastery sets, like having Kuki built with 2pc Wanderer Troupe + 2pc Gilded Dreams.
5 Bennett
Energy Recharge Is All He Needs
Bennett is also one of the most F2P-friendly characters in Genshin Impact. Players only have to stack HP and Energy Recharge on the Adventurer, then leave the rest to him. For his weapon, any Sword with Energy Recharge sub-stat should do the trick, although of course, he works best with equipment that has high base ATK.
This unit is at his best at C1, so players don’t have to worry about needing several copies of Bennett. This ease of building, combined with his universal utility easily makes Bennett one of the most F2P-friendly characters in Genshin Impact.
4 Zhongli
Stack Up On HP, Use Black Tassel
The Geo Archon, Morax, is designed as a shielder in Genshin Impact. His protection scales with HP, another commonly obtained stat during Artifact farming. His best set is the 4-Tenacity of the Millelith, but Zhongli works excellently even without any set.
As for his Genshin Impact Polearm, players can use a 3-Star weapon, Black Tassel. Black Tassel grants HP% as its sub-stat, further enhancing the strength of Zhongli’s shield. Travelers who think that Zhongli already has enough HP can use the Geo Archon as a Sub-DPS as well. Zhongli’s Elemental Burst can deal decent damage while also petrifying the enemy.
3 Nilou
Stack Up On HP
Nilou started with an extremely limited team structure that suffocated her with few characters to choose from. However, that all changed with time, and now Nilou teams in Genshin Impact enjoy a wide variety of 5-Star to 4-Star units. It’s super easy to build her team, and it’s even easier to build her.
All Nilou needs to operate properly is HP, nothing else. Build Nilou with 2pc Vourukasha’s Glow + 2pc Tenacity of the Millelith and give her any HP stat you can find, and she’s ready to enhance the entire team’s Bloom damage.
2 Raiden Shogun
The Catch For The Win
Another Archon who is among the best characters for F2P players is the leader of the Land of Thunder, Inazuma. Raiden Shogun’s best F2P weapon was released along with her debut. This Polearm, The Catch, can be refined to maximum refinement simply by fishing throughout Teyvat.
Currently, Raiden Shogun is one of the best Batteries in Genshin Impact, making her suitable for practically any team composition. One downside for the Electro Archon is that her best-in-slot set, Emblem of Severed Fate, can be quite a pain to collect. Luckily though, similar to Noblesse Oblige, Emblem of Severed Fate is one of the best Artifacts in the game, so farming it constantly isn’t a bad idea.
1 Venti
As Long As He CC
Unsurprisingly, Venti is one of the most F2P-friendly characters in Genshin Impact. As the best feature in his kit is his crowd control, players can focus solely on his Elemental Burst. The Anemo Archon doesn’t need any Artifact set, Artifact main stat, or weapon to do his job of controlling crowds. Those who wish to maximize Venti’s potential can also choose between an Elemental Mastery build or a traditional ATK/Anemo/Crit build. These options allow players to adjust their Venti’s build according to the Artifact that they own.
Furthermore, although it may be bad news for some, F2P players will be happy to learn that Venti’s Constellations aren’t actually that good. So, unlike some other characters who enter a new level with Constellations, like Hu Tao’s C1, or Raiden Shogun’s C2, F2P players can stay content with C0 Venti.
