Anyway, here’s everything you need to know about Poppy Playtime’s Boxy Boo.
Who is Poppy Playtime’s Boxy Boo?
Playtime Co. created Boxy Boo in 1966, meaning his release is five years after Bron’s. Unfortunately, he isn’t as successful as the likes of Bron, Poppy, and Huggy Wuggy, meaning when the time comes for mascot lineup in the 90s, he’s stuck on the shelf. Things just get worse for the poor toy, as while his performance at retail isn’t good enough, Playtime Co. finds a use for him through an array of experiments.
The Boxy Boo you meet in Project Playtime is part of the Bigger Bodies Initiative, a series of experiments with the intent of turning poor orphans into giant toys. As you can probably guess, this Boxy Boo is one of the successful candidates, though this certainly comes back to bite the scientists on the butt when The Hour of Joy rolls around.
To dive a little deeper into Boxy Boo’s history, he is one of the toys that participates in the 1995 Playtime Co. massacre, during which the toys kill many staff members. Besides Boxy Boo, the Prototype, CatNap, Mommy Long Legs, and Mommy Long Legs took part. Going one step further, Boxy, Mommy, and Huggy would go on to kill any scientist who dares return to the factory to continue the Big Buddy Initiative.
What is Poppy Playtime Boxy Boo’s role in the story?
Though there’s no trace of Boxy Boo in Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 or Poppy Playtime Chapter 2, he does make a brief appearance in Deep Sleep during The Hour of Joy videotape. It’s here that you see just how monstrous he is, as the toy kills many members of staff. In fact, it’s this clip that leads us to believe that he might have a more prominent role in the story down the line.
Poppy Playtime Boxy Boo’s personality
Before the ghastly experiments, Boxy Boo is a joyous and energetic toy that loves to play, despite his clumsy nature. Sounds nice, right? Well, after the experiments, his demeanor changes, making him a savage beast that wants to tear humans apart. What’s scarier is that he’s a patient individual, so has no trouble waiting for the perfect moment to strike – certainly sounds like primary antagonist material.
Poppy Playtime Boxy Boo’s appearances
Currently, the only true appearance Boxy Boo has is as one of the playable characters in Project Playtime. However, following the conclusion of Poppy Playtime Chapter 3, we believe that there’s a good chance Boxy Boo will appear in Poppy Playtime Chapter 4, and yes, that’s because we think he might be the next villain.
