In Palworld, players need to establish a base as their hub before going out to explore the huge world with diverse environments. There is no shortage of work around the base — there are crops to tend, items to craft, and more. Luckily, Pals are there to do the lion’s share of this work. As more Pals are captured, this work can be done faster and more efficiently, allowing players to focus on going off and exploring.
There are some unique challenges to keeping a base operational depending on its location. The base needs to be defended from raiders, but temperature is a factor as well, given the game’s range of biomes and environments. Fire Pals can use their Kindling level to tend to heaters and keep the area from becoming dangerously cold. The higher their Kindling level, the faster these Pals can warm up the area.
Palworld: Best Pals For Gathering Plants
Every Pal in Palworld is suited to different types of work around the base. Many of them can gather crops and harvest berries so players don’t have to
10 Foxparks
Early Game Fire Pal
Foxparks is likely the first Fire pal that players come across, since many are found just down the hill from the initial starting point. Because of this, many players rely on them for kindling fires early on in the game.
Their Kindling is only Level 1, so they are among the slowest Pals at tending fires. However, using them until capturing a Pal with a higher level Kindling (or using a Pal Condenser to increase the level) is a good strategy for cooking, crafting ingots, and keeping warm early in the game.
9 Bushi
Samurai-inspired Fire Pal
- Kindling Level 2
- Lumbering Level 3
- Transporting Level 2
Bushi is a humanoid Pal based on samurai. Players can find them along the southern edge of the volcano on the western side of the map, or capture the Alpha Bushi boss in the Sealed Realm of the Swordmaster. Activating a bushi’s partner skill causes it to target enemies with its blade.
With a wide variety of work traits, Bushi is a good laborer to have at the base. They are faster at tending fires than foxparks and other early-game Pals, and can also chop wood, transport resources, gather plants, and craft items.
8 Arsox
Fire Pal Keeps Players Warm Anywhere
- Kindling Level 2
- Lumbering Level 1
Arsox is a Fire Pal that spawns in multiple locations near the center of the world map. Players can craft an Arsox saddle to ride this ram-inspired Pal, or deploy one while exploring in the cold to stay warm.
Since it is relatively easy to find an Arsox while still at a lower level, players can use them as a way to upgrade away from using foxparks or other Pals with Kindling Level 1. Arsox is a great fire Pal to have around because it can keep the player warm in the base, or while out exploring.
7 Suzaku
Flying Pal With Good Kindling Skill
Found throughout the northeastern desert, Suzaku is a flying Fire Element Pal that players can ride. While mounted, the player’s fire attacks deal more damage. Players that favor the fire bow can take advantage of this, raining fire down on their enemies from the sky.
When assigned to the base, Suzaku only has one work suitability: kindling. While this does limit their usefulness, players who set up their bases in cold regions need a Pal that can focus on keeping the base warm. They can also keep any furnaces going or cook food once they are done with any heaters in the base.
6 Blazehowl
Good For Farming Loot Or Working At The Base
- Level 3 Kindling
- Level 2 Lumbering
Blazehowl is a lion-inspired Fire type Pal. Players can capture one on the western side of Mount Obsidian. While fighting with a Blazehowl, Grass type Pals drop more loot. This makes Blazehowl a good choice for players looking to farm specific kinds of items. Blazehowl can also be ridden, which makes them good Pals to have in the party.
Palworld: Best Pals For Generating Electricity
All Electric Pals can generate electricity to develop more advanced tools, but some are better at it than others in Palworld.
This Pal also has good work traits for players in need of woodm or any of the things that Kindling can provide. Blazehowl has the second-highest Kindling level, making them very efficient at keeping the base warm in between chopping down trees or fire-related tasks.
5 Reptyro
Quick Kindling With Slow But Powerful Mining
- Kindling Level 3
- Mining Level 3
This large tortoise-like Pal lives around the eastern side of Obsidian Volcano. This high-level area is dangerous, but the trek may be worth it to find Pals like Reptyro. While they make for slow mounts, they get a boost to their Mining skill when ridden. Since they already have level 3 Mining, this makes them ideal for players in search of things like ore or sulfur.
Repytro’s Kindling Skill is also Level 3, which makes them great for working on heaters and furnaces at the base. With their two work traits combined, a working Reptyro will never let the base get cold or run out of mining resources.
4 Faleris
Good Fire Pal That Can Be Harder To Find
- Kindling Level 3
- Transporting Level 3
Faleris is like a giant, multicolored raven that can breathe fire. It is a rare Pal, found only in Wilderness Sanctuary Number 3 in the far northeastern corner of the map. While difficult to reach, this Pal can do a lot to help their player. Like many other bird-like Pals, players can ride their Faleris through the skies. It also increases loot dropped by ice Pals.
A Faleris can cook, heat, or craft ingots quickly with its high level in Kindling. It can also carry goods across the base quickly with its great Transporting level. This is a good Pal to capture, even if it is so far out of the way.
3 Ragnahawk
Fast-Moving, Fast-Working Flying Pal
- Kindling Level 3
- Transporting Level 3
Ragnahawk is a huge bird-like Pal found around the southern and western sides of Obsidian Volcano. Player attacks deal fire damage while riding this flying Pal, giving them an edge over other potential mounts.
With Kindling Level 3, Ragnahawks are among the fastest Pals when it comes to doing fire-related work. Their Transporting trait is the same level, so they are also among the fastest Pals for moving resources throughout the base. Getting this work done so quickly allows a Ragnahawk to always keep heaters from going out.
2 Blazamut
A Dinosaur That Can Tend Fires And Mine Quickly
- Level 3 Kindling
- Level 4 Mining
Blazamut is a large fiery dinosaur of a Pal. With its dinosaur-inspired design, it is fitting that they are sequestered away on a lone island. Riding across the world on the back of a dinosaur is sure to be a peak experience for players as they destroy their enemies with enhanced fire attacks.
Blazamuts are fantastic workers with the maximum level in Mining and a Kindling level almost as high. Only one other Pal can kindle flames faster than a Blazamut, and only one Pal can even match a Blazamut’s mining speed.
1 Jormuntide Ignis
A Dragon Faster Than All Others
The Fire Element variant of Jormuntide can be found in Wilderness Sanctuary Number 2, on the western edge of the map. It is a possible mount that, like many Fire type mounts, enhances the player’s fire attacks.
When working, this fiery dragon specializes exclusively in Kindling-related tasks. As the only Pal that starts with a Level 4 Kindling trait, it is quicker and more efficient than any other. Having one of these is the best guarantee that ingots get made, food never goes uncooked, and the player knows that cold will never be a problem again.
