Between the multiple teams out to get you and the buildings collapsing all around you, The Finals is a tough enough game at the best of times. So imagine how much tougher that would be if your opponents could see where you were the whole time. Well, that’s exactly what happened to one unfortunate soul during a game.
In a video posted to The Finals subreddit, this Reddit user came across a bizarre bug where he and his teammates were able to see the outline of one player running across their screen. They speculate that he might have a Tracking Dart on him, but with none of them firing it, it seems unlikely.
Things get even more confusing when he realised that the player was glowing pink on his screen, when they should have been glowing orange since they were on the orange team. OP later commented that when the player died, the outline of their body stayed on the ground for the entire match and could be seen from anywhere on the map.
Some other players noted that they had experienced some similarly weird goings-on in their own games. In one comment, u/Kaidu313 says that they once joined a game where a few players were permanently visible, but that they initially thought it was a perk one of their teammates was using.
On the other hand, many commenters joked that they must be the victims of such a bug themselves. “Ah yes this must happen to me most games. Mystery solved”, said u/TomThumbTwo. Meanwhile, other users commented that this would actually be a great way to combat cheaters in the game, forcing them to be visible at all times to counter any benefit they get from the cheating.
As for the poor player who was the unfortunate victim of this bizarre wallhack glitch, you won’t be surprised to know that things didn’t go too well. “He finished 1-12 and raged about a minute before the game ended when my friend blind lobbed a nade into the nook he was hiding in from the next house over. Poor dude.”, commented OP. Poor dude indeed.
