Highlights

  • Vampire Survivors offers a wide selection of weapons, with the ability to choose your own combination for a unique build.
  • It’s important to consider the compatibility of weapons, as some may not scale well with certain stats or may decrease the effectiveness of other weapons.
  • Effective weapon combinations can greatly impact gameplay, such as using Just Vent and Four Seasons for crowd control or combining Spellstrom and Vicious Hunger for chaos and damage.

Vampire Survivors has a huge selection of standard weapons. Weapon evolutions and unions increase this large pool of available weapons even further. Each character has a starting weapon, and the player is free to choose which weapons will occupy the five remaining weapon slots. This gives the player a lot of options when putting a build together.

The problem is that some weapons do not work well with other weapons. One reason for this is that not all weapons scale with every stat. Another reason is that some weapons can lower the efficiency of other weapons to almost zero. A good example of this is Phieraggi and Garlic/Soul Eater. Phieraggi will typically kill enemies before they ever reach the barrier created by the Garlic (or Soul Eater). This discussion’s focus will mainly be on the standard, non-evolved, weapons, albeit with a few evolved options thrown in for good measure.

Updated on January 24th, 2024, by Jeff Drake: Vampire Survivors has over 80 weapons players can choose from while playing. This number doesn’t even include the Candy Boxes and the Gemini arcana weapons. Not all of these weapons are good by themselves, but become incredibly effective when combined with another weapon. Some weapons are great on their own, but become less effective when paired with other weapons. Good weapon combinations in Vampire Survivors are measured by several metrics; the most important being the weapons’ area of effect, and which stats affect their improvement. Below are weapon combos that are proven effective.

10 Games That Switch Up The Vampire Survivors Formula

While Vampire Survivors basically created a whole subgenre of games similar to it, not all of them are ‘carbon copies’, such as these games.

24 Four Seasons – Just Vent

Keep Enemies Off-Guard With This Combo

Just Vent and Four Seasons weapons In Vampire Survivors

Just Vent

Four Seasons

  • Base Damage: N/A
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Mini Shapeshifter
  • Covers the floor with vent traps.
  • Base Damage: 5
  • Max Level: 8
  • Scales with Amount and Duration
  • Causes mid-range explosions around the character.

Just Vent is an interesting weapon; it drops vents on the ground that pull in enemies. Four Seasons creates explosions, generally around the edges of the screen. The crowd control potential of these two weapons when used together is next level. Enemies not pulled into the vents will be caught in the explosions.

Players will want to increase Amount as much as possible, along with Might and Area. When Just Vent evolves it begins pulling enemies to one side of the screen at set intervals. This can cause enemy creatures to be pulled towards the player. The Laurel helps negate any incidental damage taken due to this.

23 Sharp Tongue – Spellstring – Magic Wand

Attack The Nearest Enemy With Multiple Rapid-Fire Weapons

Spellstring, Sharp Tongue, and Magic Wand weapons In Vampire Survivors

Sharp Tongue

Spellstring

Magic Wand

  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Mini Impostor
  • Works with the Gemini arcana.
  • Base Damage: 5
  • Max Level: 6
  • Ignores Area and Duration
  • Targets the closest enemy.
  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Attacks The Nearest Enemy
  • The evolved form (Holy Wand) fires continuously.

This combo may seem weak in the middle of a run, but it will quickly become overpowered towards the 20-minute mark. Sharp Tongue, Spellstring, and Magic Wand are point defense weapons; this means they strike at the nearest enemy, and their attack area isn’t particularly large. King Bible is a great fourth weapon for this combo as it creates a circular zone around the player that damages enemies that attempt to pass.

With this weapon combo, any enemy that manages to make it through the King Bible barrier will be quickly picked-off by one of the three point defense weapons. Passive items should focus on increasing Amount, Might, and Projectile Speed. The Gemini arcana works well with this build.

22 Report – Song Of Mana

Synergy Never Sounded So Good

Report and Song of Mana weapons In Vampire Survivors

Report

Song Of Mana

  • Base Damage: 6.5
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Mini Crewmate
  • Only fires projectiles left or right.
  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Ignores Amount and Speed
  • Has a knockback effect.

This weapon combo combines one of the older weapons in the game with one of the newest. Report is part of the Emergency Meeting DLC, and fires either to the left or right. Its projectiles cannot go up or down. Song of Mana forms a vertical shaft of energy centered on the player that extends from the top of the screen to the bottom.

With these two weapons, it doesn’t matter from what direction the enemy approaches – there are no blind sides. Best of all, both of these weapons have a knockback effect strong enough to keep even bosses at a safe distance.

21 Crossed Wires – La Robba

Cover The Screen With Projectiles

Crossed Wires and La Robba weapons In Vampire Survivors

Crossed Wires

La Robba

  • Base Damage: ? (Possibly 10 or 12)
  • Max Level: N/A
  • Evolved form of Lucky Swipe
  • Electrified wires extend horizontally across the screen
  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Scales with all stat bonuses
  • Can be purchased from the merchant.

Crossed Wires is the evolved form of Lucky Swipe. Lucky Swipe is one of the game’s worst weapons; however, Crossed Wires is one of the best. This weapon extends different colored, electrically charged, wires horizontally across the screen. Enemy creatures passing through these wires take a shocking amount of energy.

La Robba showers furniture down from the top middle of the screen. When combined, these two weapons criss-cross the screen at the center. This crossfire helps eliminate approaching creatures at peak efficiency.

20 Summon Night – Greatest Jubilee

Explosions And Zoning

Summon Night and Greatest Jubilee weapons in Vampire Survivors

Summon Night

Greatest Jubilee

  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Duplicator
  • At max level covers the screen with vertical bars
  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 9
  • Scales with all stat bonuses
  • Can spawn light sources (5% chance)

Summon Night doesn’t really need to be partnered with any weapon to be effective. It is arguably the best weapon in Vampire Survivors. It creates vertical lines across the screen that causes damage to enemies that pass through. With a boost to Area and Might, this weapon keeps the screen clear of enemies.

The only real negative to Summon Night is that it initially only covers the top portion of the screen, leaving a safe passage for enemies at the bottom of the screen. At level nine, Greatest Jubilee covers the bottom half of the screen in a damaging light show. This counters the only negative of Summon Night.

19 Silver Wind – King Bible

Turn The Character Into A Blender

Silver Wind and King Bible weapons in Vampire Survivors

Silver Wind

King Bible

  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Pummarola
  • Also pairs well with Garlic due to both using the Pummarola to evolve
  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Spellbinder
  • Increase damage more by increasing projectile speed

Some of the most effective weapons in Vampire Survivors are those that surround the character with projectiles. When combined, these weapons are perfect for creating zones around the player the enemy cannot breach. The King Bible is such a weapon and has remained a favorite among players since the beginning.

Silver Wind functions similarly to King Bible. Whereas the King Bible has books rotate around the player in a circular orbit, SilverWind has projectiles that take a more oblong path around the character. When these two weapons are evolved they not only prevent the enemy from reaching the character, but Festive Winds (Silver Wind) provides enough healing hearts to quickly get to max health.

18 Spellstrom – Vicious Hunger

Chaos Is A Powerful Weapon

Spellstrom and Vicious Hunger weapons in Vampire Survivors

Spellstrom

Vicious Hunger

  • Base Damage: 15
  • The union of SpellString, SpellStream, and SpellStrike weapons
  • Scales with all stat bonuses
  • Can spawn a singularity that damages enemies
  • Base Damage: 30
  • Evolved form of Gatti Amari
  • Scales with all stat bonuses
  • Can turn enemies and edible pick-up items into gold – this can be good or bad

Spellstrom was introduced into the game through the Tides of Foscari DLC. The three weapons that merge to form Spellstrom are each decent weapons, though, when they combine into Spellstrom they become one of the best. This weapon creates two orbs that rotate around the character. These orbs deal significant damage on their own when hitting a creature, but they also send out energy beams that damage enemies.

Vicious Hunger is an often overlooked weapon because it starts out as one of the weakest and most ineffective weapons – Gatti Amari. Vicious Hunger sends out cat eyes that leave smoky trails in their wake. Enemies struck by these eyes, or passing through the smoke, take damage. These two weapons work well at keeping the center of the screen clear of enemies.

Vampire Survivors: The Best PowerUps To Prioritize

While there are many PowerUps that are useful in Vampire Survivors, some are more useful than others early on.

17 Millionaire – Fuwalafuwaloo

A Great Combination For Clearing A Path

Fuwalafuwaloo and Millionaire weapons in Vampire Survivors

Millionaire

Fuwalafuwaloo

  • Base Damage: 40
  • Evolved for of Flash Arrow
  • Summons a rain of arrows when gold is collected
  • Works well with the Slash arcana
  • Base Damage: 30
  • Union of Bloody Tear and Vento Sacro
  • Scales with all stat bonuses
  • Cooldown is reduced while moving

Millionaire showers the screen in a rain of arrows should the initial arrow collect gold or defeat an enemy creature – which is almost guaranteed to happen. This weapon can keep one side (left or right) of the screen clear of enemies—the side opposite of that which the character is facing.

It makes sense to combine this with a weapon that is devastating to enemies approaching the character. Few weapons are better at this than Fuwalafuwaloo. This weapon clears a path in front of the character, while simultaneously providing healing.

16 Victory Sword – Luminaire

Powerful Weapons And An Experience Boost

Victory Sword and Luminaire weapons in Vampire Survivors

Victory Sword

Luminaire

  • Base Damage: 5
  • Does not evolve, but adds the Sole Solution weapon if the character has Torrona’s Box
  • Has a finisher that summons a damaging column of energy
  • Works well with the Slash arcana
  • Base Damage: 25
  • Evolved for of Prismatic Missile
  • Increases the value of gems and gold coins
  • Works well with the Heart of Fire and Twilight Requiem arcanas

The Victory Sword slashes at nearby enemies. When fully leveled, this weapon is effective at keeping enemies at arms reach. The Victory Sword also has the benefit of being able to hit the handful of enemies that are unaffected by most of the weapons in the game.

Luminaire is the evolved form of Prismatic Missile and acts similarly to Victory Sword. This weapon creates rainbow-hued beams that strike the enemies onscreen. Victory Sword and Luminaire both striking will damage most enemies enough that they never reach the player. This Vampire Survivors weapon combination also has the added benefit of experience gems being worth more than usual.

15 Vandalier – Clock Lancet

Freeze Enemies Before The Bombardment

Using the Vandalier and Clock Lancet weapons in the Inlaid Library in Vampire Survivors

Vandalier

Clock Lancet

  • Base Damage: 28
  • Union of Ebony Wings and Peachone
  • Has to be leveled up – max level is 8
  • Works well with the Gemini arcana
  • Base Damage: N/A
  • Sends out beams that freezes enemies temporarily
  • Works well with the Empty Tome and Spellbinder passive items
  • Works best with the Out of Bounds aracana

The problem with Vandalier is the targeting circles that rotate around the character. These targeting circles move a little too fast and have a 1-second cooldown, and as a consequence, the tougher enemies can begin getting through. The Clock Lancet keeps enemies in place long enough to ensure Vandalier’s targeting circles will pass over them.

The Out of Bounds arcana takes this combo up a tier or two, and the Gemini arcana will give the player Vandalier’s twin as a free weapon. The Empty Tome and Spellbinder passive items should be selected. These will make the Clock Lancet rotate faster and Vanadlier’s attack last longer.

14 Holy Wand – Gorgeous Moon – Laurel

Clear The Screen From Behind A Shield

Using the Holy Wand and Gorgeous Moon weapons in the Mad Forest in Vampire Survivors

Holy Wand

Gorgeous Moon

Laurel

  • Base Damage: 28
  • Union of Ebony Wings and Peachone
  • Has to be leveled up – max level is 8
  • Works well with the Gemini arcana
  • Base Damage: N/A
  • Sends out beams that freeze enemies temporarily
  • Works well with the Empty Tome and Spellbinder passive items
  • Works best with the Out of Bounds arcana
  • Base Damage: N/A
  • Creates a shield that prevents damage for a short period
  • The Empty Tome is the only passive item that affects Laurel
  • Works well with the Blood Astrornomia arcana

This combo is a little tricky getting them to the point where the weapons can be evolved. That’s why the Laurel is included – insurance. Once the Magic Wand and Pentagram are evolved they can keep even the strongest enemies at bay. At the start of a run with this combo, the player will have to stay on the move, and getting the Attractorb doesn’t hurt. With the Holy Wand and Gorgeous Moon, the player can sit the controller down.

This combo is made exponentially better with the Waltz of Pearls arcana. This makes the Holy Wand act like three weapons and makes the wands better when surrounded on all sides. Evolving the Laurel is not necessary, since the enemies won’t be getting near the character by the time it is ready to evolve.

13 La Robba – Bracelet

Contain The Edges And Center At Once

Using the La Robba and Bracelet weapons in the Mad Forest in Vampire Survivors

La Robba

Bracelet

  • Base Damage: 10
  • Does not evolve, but it doesn’t need to (it’s very powerful)
  • Can be purchased from the merchant
  • Works well with the Candelabrador and Duplicator passive items
  • Base Damage: 10
  • Evolves twice without the need for a specific passive item
  • Scales with all stat bonuses
  • Works well with the Empty Tome and Spellbinder passive items

The La Robba can be used solo and still feel overpowered. It really doesn’t need any help, but an excellent secondary weapon to go with La Robba is the Bracelet. La Robba hurls furniture from the top of the screen, though they normally spawn closer to the center of the screen rather than the corners.

The Bracelet sends out missile-looking projectiles that reach the edge of the screen and create harmful zones for the enemy to pass through. The La Robba protects the center of the screen, while the Bracelet protects the edges. Good passive items with this combo are the Duplicator, Spinach, Torrona’s Box, Candelabrador, and Empty Tome.

After completing Vampire Survivors, some players might be looking for a similar experience, and these games may be just the thing.

12 Carrello – Vento Sacro

Another Great Build For Moving Continuously In One Direction

Using the Carrello and Vento Sacro weapons in the Inlaid Library in Vampire Survivors

Carrello

Vento Sacro

  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Can be purchased from the merchant
  • Works best with a high Amount (number of projectiles)
  • Base Damage: 2 (It gets better)
  • Max Level: 8
  • Cooldown time is reduced while the character remains in motion
  • Works best with the Bracer and Candelabrador passive items

Some weapons are built for moving to the left or right indefinitely. The combo of Carrello and Vento Sacro puts two of the best of this type together. When fully leveled, this combo will allow for uninterrupted walking to the left or right, making it the perfect build for the Inlaid Library.

This loadout is improved with the Tragic Princess arcana. This will greatly reduce the cooldown time of the Carrello as long as the character is moving. The Spinach, Bracer, Wings, and Candelabrador passive items also improve this combo. It never hurts to get the Attractorb passive item with builds designed for constant lateral movement. Focus on the Area when limit breaking the Carrello.

11 Vicious Hunger – Vandalier

Cats And Birds Are Powerful Allies

Using the Vandalier and Vicious Hunger weapons in the Inlaid Library in Vampire Survivors

Vicious Hunger

Vandalier

  • Base Damage: 30
  • Evolved form of Gatti Amari
  • Scales with all stat bonuses
  • Can turn enemies and edible pick-up items into gold – this can be good or bad
  • Base Damage: 28
  • Union of Ebony Wings and Peachone
  • Has to be leveled up – max level is 8
  • Works well with the Gemini arcana

Make no mistake, the Vicious Hunger and Vanadlier are one of the best Vampire Survivors combinations; however, Gatti Amari, Peachone, and Ebony Wings are a tough combo with which to survive. This combo demands the Gemini arcana- effectively giving the player four weapons for the price of two.

The best passive items with this combo are Empty Tome, Torrona’s Box, Spinach, Clover, and Stone Mask. The Disco of Gold also works well with this combo, it can make the player a lot of gold and heal the player at crucial moments. This is a challenging combo to maximize, but once it is the player can easily survive to the 30-minute mark.

10 Garlic – King Bible

Layers Of Protection

Garlic and King Bible weapons in Vampire Survivors

Garlic

King Bible

  • Base Damage: 5
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Pummarola
  • Works well with the Blood Astronomia arcana
  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Spellbinder
  • Increase damage more by increasing projectile speed

The Garlic – King Bible combination is one that has been available since Vampire Survivors‘ release, and it continues to be one of the best combinations. The King Bible creates books that spin around the character. These books do an average amount of damage (10), but due to their spinning nature, an enemy will usually be hit by multiple books.

The Garlic creates a circular barrier around the character that damages enemies if they enter. The King Bible’s radius is slightly further than the Garlic, which creates two barriers that enemies must pass through to get to the character.

9 Song Of Mana – Knife

Keep Enemies Away While Focusing On One Direction

Song of Mana and Knife weapons in Vampire Survivors

Song of Mana

Knife

  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Skull O’ Maniac
  • Works well with the Blood Astronomia arcana
  • Base Damage: 6.5
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Bracer
  • Works well with the Slash and Iron Blue Will arcanas

Most weapons in Vampire Survivors have a horizontal firing pattern, but the Song of Mana is one of the few that extends vertically. Due to this weapon’s vertical attack, it’s quite effective at clearing the screen of enemies as the character walks to the left or right. This is especially true when both weapons are fully leveled and boosted by the Spinach passive item.

As enemies become stronger the Song of Mana becomes too weak to continuously walk to the left or right. Enemies will start reaching the character through the Song of Mana and cause damage. The Knife negates this weakness by clearing a path through the enemy.

8 Santa Water (La Borra) – Runetracer

Circles Of Death And Random Bullets

Santa Water and Runetracer weapons in Vampire Survivors

Santa Water

Runetracer

  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Attractorb
  • Works best with the Empty Tome, Spellbinder, and Bracer passive items
  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Armor
  • Works well with the Jail of Crystal arcana

The Santa Water starts incredibly weak, but by Level 8 it becomes one of the more powerful weapons. Its evolved form, La Borra, is arguably the best weapon in the game. The only problem with La Borra is that it only covers the center of the screen, or more precisely, the area around the character.

The Runetracer sends out diamond projectiles that pass through enemies and bounce off of walls and the edge of the screen. This forces enemies to take damage as soon as they enter the screen. First, the enemy must pass through the Runetracer projectiles. If they survive this they will certainly be taken down by the La Borra as they get closer to the character.

7 Celestial Dusting – Shadow Pinion

Follow Me…At Your Own Risk

Celestial Dusting and Shadow Pinion weapons in Vampire Survivors

Celestial Dusting

Shadow Pinion

  • Base Damage: 5
  • Max Level: 8
  • Cooldown time is reduced while the character remains in motion
  • Works well with the Twilight Requiem arcana
  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Wings
  • Works well with the Twilight Requiem arcana

The Celestial Dusting and Shadow Pinion operate similarly. Both of these weapons send projectiles away from the character in the opposite direction they’re walking. This type of weapon takes a little while to get used to but can be incredibly effective against the bosses in the game.

These two weapons give the character the ability to attack enemies approaching from behind. When combined, these two give unparalleled protection against pursuing enemies. Additionally, enemies have a natural tendency to start forming a single file line when chasing the player.

Roguelikes are an exciting and challenging genre of games, and these titles allow players to step into the shoes of some great female characters.

6 Vento Sacro – Knife

Maximum Firepower In One Direction

Knife and Vento Sacro weapons in Vampire Survivors

Vento Sacro

Knife

  • Base Damage: 2
  • Max Level: 8
  • Cooldown time is reduced while the character remains in motion
  • Works best with the Bracer and Candelabrador passive items
  • Base Damage: 6.5
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Bracer
  • Works well with the Slash and Iron Blue Will arcanas

The Vento Sacro lacks in damage-per-hit but makes up for that with a blazing-fast attack pattern that delivers numerous hits in less than a second. This weapon fires in whatever direction the character is facing, much like the Knife.

By combining the Knife and Vento Sacro the player can walk endlessly to the left or right with little chance of anything but a boss creature being able to reach them. The evolved forms of these Vampire Survivors weapons work even better together, thanks to Fuwalafuwaloo’s (Vento Sacro) life-stealing properties, and Thousand Edge’s continuous rate of fire.

5 Bone – Cherry Bomb

Bouncy!

Bone and Cherry Bomb weapons in Vampire Survivors

Bone

Cherry Bomb

  • Base Damage: 5
  • Max Level: 8
  • Can be purchased from the merchant
  • Works well with the Bracer and Candelabrador passive items
  • Base Damage: 10
  • Max Level: 8
  • Evolves with the Bracer
  • Can be purchased from the merchant

These two weapons are among the rarest in Vampire Survivors – that must mean they’re pretty good. Spoiler…they are. Both of these weapons’ projectiles bounce off of enemies. They are both listed as having a base damage of 8, but they seem to be more powerful than this while playing.

Towards the end of a stage, when the enemies begin surrounding the character on all sides, is when these two weapons shine. The ever-tightening circle of enemies around the player causes these weapons to become much more efficient. This is because the distance the projectiles have to travel between bounces is lessened, and there is almost zero chance of missing.
