Re: Loblaw 50-per-cent off stickers to return after public anger over discount reduction, online, Jan. 19
Article content
Having bowed to public pressure — meaning outrage — Loblaw has reinstated its 50-per-cent discount on items about to pass their best-before date. Good!
But why in heck will it take weeks (Loblaw’s own announcement) to get the 50-per-cent stickers back in place? Bad!
The restored reduction should be reinstated immediately and there is no earthly reason why this cannot be done. Cashiers hardly need a sticker reading “50 per cent off” to key in that calculation, regardless of what any sticker may say.

This has to be the worst idea in the history of peoplekind, and the government might make a last-ditch attempt to use it to climb back from obscurity before the next election.
If there was anything good that came from COVID, it was the highlighting of what happens when people receive enough public money to get by: nobody wants to work!
Even that issue pales compared to the cost burden, put once again on the backs of those who do work.
I honestly don’t expect the Senate bill to pass if it gets to the House of Commons, but how far out of touch with the working class do you have to be to even consider it?

MIDDLE CLASS POSSIBILITY?
After finally realizing that the economy is the No. 1 issue for Canadians, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his team will now be laser-focused on their concerns.

After eliminating the farcical Minister of Middle Class Prosperity in 2021, perhaps he will now create the new and improved portfolio for a “Minister of Middle Class Possibility.”
While for many millennials this increasingly elusive pursuit is certainly challenging, the PM will attempt to convince them that it’s still “possible.”
Feel better now?
