Despite all the online criticism and controversy, Call of Duty is always one of the biggest and most played games of every year. Modern Warfare 3 is the perfect embodiment of this reality as it was reviewed poorly but still sold extremely well. The yearly releases will continue, and the leaked new Call of Duty games schedule from 2024 up until 2027 has fans worried that we will see more ‘premium DLC’ like MW3.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is in the midst of Season 1 Reloaded. This mid-season content is exciting as it brings new Operator bundles for The Boys from Amazon Prime, and it also finally introduced Ranked Play. In addition, there is a whole list of new weapons for players to enjoy shooting others.
While the multiplayer for CoD is always sound and popular, Modern Warfare 3 was still poorly received before and after launch with accusations of it being ‘premium DLC’. Now, based on the leaked schedule of new games up until 2027, there are concerns that history will repeat itself in 2025.
Leaked new Call of Duty release schedule from 2024 until 2027
Below is the leaked new Call of Duty games release schedule from 2024 until 2027:
- New Black Ops from Treyarch – 2024
- Semi-futuristic Black Ops 2 sequel codenamed Saturn – 2025
- New Call of Duty understood to be from the Modern Warfare universe by Infinity Ward – 2026
- Call of Duty 2027 – Sledgehammer
The above-leaked schedule comes courtesy of Insider Gaming’s report about Sledgehammer Games going back to remote as they find a new office. None of the above has been officially confirmed by Activision but leaked Call of Duty 2024 details say it takes place in the Gulf War.
Reacting to the rumored Call of Duty schedule on Reddit, fans are mostly worried about CoD 2025. Seeing as it’s back-to-black Black Ops games, fans worry that Treyarch are getting screwed over. They are also worried that the game will be full of remastered maps just like MW3 following MW2, and that it will be $70 DLC again’.
Of course, by 2025, the new Call of Duty games could join Game Pass on day one. Activision has said that Call of Duty won’t be appearing on Game Pass until at least 2024, so it’s possible Microsoft subscribers could get to play future CoD installments at no extra cost.
