In Phase One of WoW SoD, the maximum level was a mere 25. Most players rejoiced in being able to adventure in the low-level zones of classic Azeroth again, but once you reach maximum level, some may find that they run out of things to do – it can be hard to get motivation to do much when you stop earning XP, after all.

WoW Season of Discovery: Best Tank Classes in SoD, Ranked

When it comes to the best Tank classes WoW SoD players have a lot of choices, including three new classes that couldn’t Tank in WoW Classic before.

But in World of Warcraft, and in most MMOs in general, maximum level is actually where most of the action is at. Though the leveling journey is certainly a major draw for lots of players, there’s still a huge number of things to do when you reach Level 25 (and higher levels in later Phases), especially in the Season of Discovery.

Raiding, PvP, & Other Group Content

The two primary pieces of endgame content haven’t changed in World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery. At max level, and at the max level for each of the future level brackets, players will be able to engage in new Raids and PvP events.

In Phase One, the new SoD raid is Blackfathom Deeps, while Phase Two will bring a newly revamped Gnomeregan. So far, it appears that every new level bracket (or content bracket) in WoW SoD will introduce at least one new Raid, possibly a refreshed version of a classic Dungeon.

Each phase will introduce a new global PvP event, too, which is a great destination upon hitting max level in SoD. For Phase One, this was the Battle for Ashenvale, which saw both factions try to take down the others’ NPC Lieutenants before a final world boss. In Phase Two, the PvP event will take us to Stranglethorn Vale for a much more directly PvP-oriented activity. In future phases, players can expect to see more PvP events in other zones too.

Finish Collecting Your Runes

In Phase One, players were introduced to a total of 12 Runes for each class, which each alter the traditional WoW Classic gameplay for each of them – and in the cases of the Shaman, Rogue, Mage, and Warlock, even gain a new dungeon role. More Runes will be added in future phases, which could change up the meta, so it’s a good idea to finish collecting each phase’s Runes before the next comes out.

WoW Season of Discovery: Grizzby Quest Walkthrough (All Ratchet Runes)

In Ratchet, every class must complete a series of quests offered by Grizzby, a new NPC in WoW SoD who demands lots of items.

Though not all Runes are considered powerful in a Phase, it’s very likely that some Runes that look bad now will turn out to be class-defining in the future. For example, the Hunter’s Lone Wolf Rune isn’t very good right now, but if melee Hunters get the spotlight in a future Phase, they’d save some time by already having that once-weak Rune. Be sure to check off all 12 for Phase One, and continue collecting all of them in future phases.

Level Up Your Professions

Engaging in the Professions system has never been more important than in WoW SoD. With level brackets for each Phase, items in the Level 25 range, the level 40 range, and the level 50 range have gained new relevance – and new profitability on the Auction House.

Alchemy and Enchanting can be very useful for endgame PvE and PvP and thus are able to turn a profit easily. But because of all the new items available for each Profession, there’s nothing wrong with taking Tailoring, Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, or Engineering for some personal power and to be able to make BiS gear.

Farm Materials & Gold For The Next Phase

If you don’t want to raid, engage with PvP, hunt down any remaining Runes, or level up your production Professions, there’s only really one other thing that could draw you to World of Warcraft: playing the economy to make lots and lots of gold (or to roleplay, but that’s a whole other thing).

WoW Season of Discovery: What Are Waylaid Supplies?

Waylaid Supplies are a new WoW SoD unique item that grants reputation and a small chunk of rewards, which scale when filled with specific items.

Each Phase will bring new challenges that players will have to adapt to, and in the early days of each Phase, Raid groups will more than likely require certain consumables to make things easier. Think, for example, Shadow Protection Potions for Twilight Lord Kelris in BFD.

Before every Phase, the easiest way to make money is to farm higher-than-normal-level materials (like post-max-level Herbalism and Mining mats, using enchants and Racial bonuses to improve your Professions. Look up what other players think will be in high demand, and start farming the materials for those items.

When between phases, so to speak, continue farming materials and re-selling them for profit on the AH. Having two gathering Professions can be really lucrative for this reason, as long as you don’t plan to use the materials you can double your profits this way.

Start An Alt (Or Several)

World of Warcraft Season of Discovery WoW SoD Max Level Cap Silverhand Rogue

When nothing else seems fun on your main character, there’s only one thing left to do: start an Alt. As the name implies, Alts give you the chance to take a breather from endgame activities and experience life as another class. Oftentimes, players will park their Main right outside the instance to the most relevant Raid, and level up an Alt in between Raid nights.

It might seem daunting to go through all those quests and grind all those mobs again, but in future phases, the Season of Discovery will be more Alt-friendly than ever. This is because, starting with Phase Two, characters leveling up in previous level brackets will gain an XP buff.

Blizzard hasn’t revealed much on the details of this, but if it’s anything like the expansion pre-release buffs (or Anniversary buffs), it will speed up the leveling process significantly.
