Diablo 4’s latest season may have just launched, but it seems like the community haven’t been impressed by the offerings in the game’s premium track so far – if responses on the game’s subreddit are anything to by.

As with previous seasons, Diablo 4 Season 3 has a battle pass including a range of rewards and goodies for those willing to pay a little bit extra – but so far it seems like players aren’t tempted by what’s available as exemplified by a scathing thread from Kid_Karma “Out here saving me $10 each season because I don’t feel in any way tempted to purchase them. Just level after level where they hand out individual pieces of the most generic, identity-less cosmetic set imaginable.”

Unfortunately for Blizzard, it looks like plenty of the community agree. “Season 1 and 2 didn’t have great rewards, but season 3 is somehow worse. In my opinion it’s the dullest reward track yet” – says PetroarZed. “Season 3 looks like a major L to me,” agrees Protobott. “I still have not spent my free platinum upgrade I got when I purchased the ultimate version,” confesses Sleeping-In-Crypto. “I mean I’d like to but…. No point yet.”

In fact, many feel similarly that all of Diablo 4’s cosmetic offerings so far have been on something of a familiar trend. “It’s quite literally the worst battle pass system I’ve ever seen,” says Redditingatwork23. “The lowest of the low hanging fruit.” “I checked out in S1 with the red t-shirt. The fact that you don’t earn enough points back in season to get the next season’s pass makes call of duty look like value for money” confesses ShadowStorm1985.

The mood on Diablo 4’s additional cosmetics in general appears to be pretty dour, as summed up by LightsandBuzz. “D4 cosmetics are a disappointment. There’s not very many free ones. The battle pass ones are a major let down and not worth the $10. And all the other actual good ones are shoved into the store at a price of like $20 or more for a set. The value proposition on cosmetics in D4 is extremely poor. All I can say is play the game if you want, but don’t buy the battle pass or the stupid paid cosmetics.”

It’ll remain to be seen if Blizzard can improve things ahead of the release of Diablo 4’s first expansion later this year.
