Honkai: Star Rail fans are predicting the possible star levels of the Annihilation Gang based on one design detail in their character cards. The Annihilation Gang was introduced in Honkai: Star Rail‘s recent trailer, which featured Duke Inferno and four new characters.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.0 is setting up many exciting updates once the Astral Express Crew arrives in Penacony. It already revealed many new characters, like five-star banner characters Black Swan and Sparkle, and four-star Misha, and a glimpse of the world’s many locations. Honkai: Star Rail‘s latest Myriad Celestia trailer showcased the members of the Annihilation Gang, a villainous group that wants to annihilate the world to attract the gaze of Nanook, the Aeon of Destruction.
Honkai: Star Rail Chart Shows Most Popular Characters for Pure Fiction
A fan-made Honkai: Star Rail chart ranks the most prominent characters for the game’s newly-released permanent mode, Pure Fiction.
There’s still no confirmation on whether the members of the Annihilation Gang will be playable or not, but Reddit user JeanKB theorized that the borders of their character cards might be a hint of their star levels. They pointed out that Duke Inferno, Akash, Dubra, and Caterina’s cards all have golden borders, which could mean that they will be future five-star characters. Constance is the only one with a purple border on her card, which could signify that she will be a four-star unit.
Many Honkai: Star Rail fans agreed with JeanKB’s observation, but also said they don’t think Constance will be a four-star because she’s described as Duke Inferno’s “pride and joy.” Some predicted that Constance would probably be the final boss in Penacony, which could explain why she has a different-colored border compared to her fellow members. There are also theories that she will betray the Annihilation Gang because a dahlia, which is her codename, symbolizes betrayal and sadness.
Honkai: Star Rail’s Annihilation Gang Members
- Duke Inferno
- Akash “The Tuner”
- Dubra “The Scribe”
- Caterina “The Shacklebound”
- Constance “The Dahlia”
Honkai: Star Rail‘s trailers and cinematics usually tease future characters, which was the case for the likes of Black Swan and leaked character Feixiao. Duke Inferno was already leaked as a future playable character, so it’s likely that the rest of the Annihilation Gang will have their own banners in the next few updates.
What will be interesting, though, is seeing the role the Annihilation Gang will play in Honkai: Star Rail‘s overall story. Many fans believe that the group will wreak more havoc than the Stellaron Hunters, so the Trailblazers might have some tough boss battles waiting for them in Penacony.
