Exotic Weapons The Final Shape Should Add

One way that Destiny 2’s Final Shape expansion can be sure to deliver a promising experience is to bring in some top-notch Exotic weaponry that players will use long after completing the linear content from this expansion. It’s already a given that Destiny 2’s upcoming expansion will include new Exotic weapons, but Bungie shouldn’t be afraid to kick things up a notch with these weapons.

For starters, there are still plenty of Exotic weapons from the original Destiny that should arguably come to Destiny 2 beyond the weapons that have already made this jump. Aside from this, Destiny 2 should consider taking inspiration from a few other shooters to bring in new, innovative Exotic weapons for the Final Shape expansion.

Exotic Weapons From the Original Destiny That Destiny 2 Should Add

Ice Breaker and Invective

These two Exotics from the original Destiny share the same unique effect, being that they both passively regenerate ammo directly into their magazines. Shotguns already run the show in Destiny 2’s Crucible, so having a shotgun with infinite ammo, like the Invective, would be a dream come true for many players. Snipers aren’t quite as popular as shotguns in Destiny 2’s PvP, but having one with infinite ammo, like the Ice Breaker, could still be extremely useful throughout any content in the game, regardless.

Patience And Time

This Exotic weapon is a sniper rifle that grants players Invisibility while they are aiming-down-sights. Patience and Time could be a great tool for players who are brave enough to solo endgame content in Destiny 2, but it could also be a game-changer for players to have such easy access to Invisibility in casual and competitive PvP game modes.

Super Good Advice

Super Good Advice is an Exotic machine gun that will refund shots that miss their target. While this weapon doesn’t quite have the over-the-top unique effects of certain other Exotic weapons, it could still have a place in Destiny 2’s PvP where every shot counts, especially for heavy weapons.

Weapons From Other Shooters That Destiny 2 Should Add

Buddy Bot (Roboquest)

This weapon from Roboquest can be used like a typical firearm, but the main appeal of the Buddy Bot is that players can place it as a sentry gun. The Buddy Bot, or any other type of sentry gun for this matter, would seemingly translate well to Destiny 2 as a weapon that uses special or heavy ammo. Warlocks in Destiny 2 already have their own kind of sentry guns tied to Subclass-specific abilities, so giving this kind of weaponry to Titans and Hunters could be a nice change. Ultimately though, plenty of powerful weapons from Roboquest could be fun to have in Destiny 2, since these two games both have praiseworthy, satisfying gunplay.

Infinity (Borderlands Franchise)

Despite this weapon lacking in damage output compared to other top-tier weapons from the Borderlands franchise, it’s still a great buildcrafting tool to have nonetheless. Primary weapons already have infinite ammo in Destiny 2, so having weapons with a bottomless magazine seems like a natural progression. Technically, Titans already have access to weapons with a bottomless magazine thanks to the Actium War Rig Exotic armor, but having a pistol that does this without relying on an Exotic armor piece could still be useful for any of the three character classes in Destiny 2.

The Nemesis (Tom Clancy’s: The Division 2)

This Sniper Rifle is an Exotic weapon from The Division 2 that allows players to charge each bullet before firing to significantly increase the damage it deals. There are already weapons in Destiny 2 that behave similarly to the Nemesis from The Division 2, like the Arbalest and the Lorentz Driver, but the key difference is that these weapons are linear fusion rifles that must be fully charged to fire, as opposed to being a sniper rifle that can be fired regardless of the charge-level.
