Kicking off today and lasting until February 13th, the world of Waven is being accosted by a tidal wave of tiny soldiers, with the Whisperer Season now underway. Lead an army of small soldiers against the might of the Bontharians, and try your hand at Waven’s brand new character class.

To dig straight into the headline here, you can now play as a new Iop. The Astramantises first popped up in an early access sneak peek release during the Albuera Season and can now be played by anyone. If you like them, pick up the special skin in the game shop, designed by Tony Valente, author of the manga RADIANT.

The Astramantises are true weapon masters, akin to the standard spear-wielding Dragoon classes in many RPGs. Their Mantis Leap passive allows them to launch into battle and deal damage upon landing to start the battle in style. You can also build around companions, with one of their skills causing your hero and your Lances to emit 100% of your summoned friends’ attack as damage to surrounding foes. A powerful sounding class indeed.

If you prefer your battle to take place at knee height then you will want to head to the new Time Portal. Jump inside, and you will find yourself in command of a horde of Whisperers, diminutive little warriors clad in so much armour you’ll be wondering how they aren’t toppling over when they walk.

Facing the might of the Bonta Guard, you may think the battle is hopeless, but the Whisperers have taken down many a foe through their solid teamwork. Using the Reinforcements mechanic, you will soon swarm the battlefield with friends, and work together for victory, and hopefully, for a high place on the leaderboard.

For those looking to get a bit more out of the Whisperers, take a look at the Gold and Platinum Passes. You can get a heap more rewards for your efforts including a faithful Whisperer pet, some snazzy visual effects, Whisperer emotes, a bevvy of gems, and season tickets for more opportunities to give those Bontarians what for.

Waven is available for mobile in select countries from the App Store and Google Play, with a full release to follow.
