The game will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
Ottawa opened its season last Tuesday with a 3-2 overtime loss to Montreal at a sold-out TD Place, an historic night that set a record for most fans (8,318) to ever attend a professional women’s hockey game.
That mark was eclipsed on Saturday when 13,316 fans showed up at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul for Minnesota’s home opener, a 3-0 win over Montreal.
Ottawa and Boston are the only teams in the six-member PWHL that have played just once game and, as such, are at the bottom of the league standings, with Ottawa having one point from the OT loss and Boston having zero after having lost its only game in regulation time.
As the league awards three points for a win in regulation time, two for a win in overtime/shootout, one for an overtime/shootout loss and none for a regulation time loss, Minnesota sits atop the standings with a six points while New York and Toronto have three and Montreal has two.
Ottawa’s next scheduled game is Saturday in Toronto at 1 p.m., while Ottawa’s next home game is Jan. 17 (7 p.m.) at TD Place against Minnesota.
