After it originally launched in 1989, Chip’s Challenge is now heading to Switch. It’s slated for January 25, 2024 on Nintendo’s console.
Chip’s Challenge first appeared on the Atari Lynx before heading elsewhere. Pixel Games is now readying the Switch port of the puzzle title, which will now support display features, save and restore functionality, and right- and left-handed control presets.
Here’s an official overview:
The classic puzzle game from 1989 returns, with over 140 levels to tax your mind and fingers.
Take on the role of puzzle-obsessed Chip, who desperately wants to join Melinda the Mental Marvel’s computer club. His initiation test is a series of increasingly difficult puzzles. Chip must collect items, slide blocks, dodge hazards and more to collect the computer chips needed to pass each level. Are you up to the Challenge?
This collection allows you to play these classic games with many modern features, including:
• Display filters, including retro LCD and CRT filters
• Save games – save and restore your game at any point
• Right- and left-handed control presets
