Blake Fix has confirmed that Magnet Jack is bound for Switch. The project does not currently have a launch window.
Magnet Jack was previously funded on Kickstarter. It’s an action-oriented puzzle-platformer with a top-down overworld, “off-the-wall themes and characters” and “a fast-changing assortment of wacky mechanics that’ll make you think and challenge your reflexes.”
Here’s an official overview with more information:
Jack was living his best life as a videogame character when one day the King of Taxes raised everyone’s taxes through the roof! He simply cannot stand for this, so he’s going to punch that nasty old king right in the nose, but some pesky pocket dimensions full of puzzles keep getting in the way! (Little did the King of Taxes know, this is exactly what Jack wanted.)
The overworld is similar to good ol’ Super Mario Bros. 3. YOU KNOW THE ONE. Clear stages to unlock paths. Visit character houses, ride boats, fight bosses, find secrets? YOU BETCHA!!
Modern gameplay quality-of-life stuff, such as:
“Coyote time” – A small window of time to jump after running off solid ground.
Edge rounding – Don’t get caught on a corner mid-jump.
Ledge catching – No falling past nooks.Key Features
- A large variety of mechanics, like Mario.
- Action-oriented puzzles, such as Wario.
- The quick retry of Meat Boy.
- 150+ stages.
