A Baldur’s Gate 3 player has recently created a character with Armor Class (AC) 31, becoming almost impossible to hit with normal attacks. Part of why Baldur’s Gate 3 received such glowing reviews from both critics and players is because the game is so malleable to different styles, and this build shows that.
It’s impossible to deny that BG3 is one of the most successful 2023 games. Not only is the title loved by its fanbase, but Baldur’s Gate 3 won Game of the Year at The Game Awards, as well as five other categories. Such praise comes from the way Larian Studios’ game follows the Dungeons and Dragons formula, as BG3 offers a great degree of freedom to players, from the builds they can try to the choices they can make in the story, which are often affected by their abilities.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox Save Issues Still Being Investigated
Despite already having claimed to fix the problem more than a week ago, Xbox is still investigating frustrating save issues in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Now, a Baldur’s Gate 3 player called Yervax shared their powerful character with AC 31. The character, which is an elf Gloomstalker Ranger called Syllee, has a high Armor Class due to a combination of Dexterity 20 and many magic items. The ranger is equipped with an Armor of Agility and a Shield found in the House of Hope, which adds +4 to AC. Other items include more normal ones such as a Ring of Protection, a Cloak of Protection, and Evasive Shoes. Additionally, Syllee is equipped with the Troubadour’s Wonder and a Warding Bond Ring, which together add +2 to the overall AC.
According to Yervax, AC 31 is high enough so that most attacks from normal enemies will never hit the character, except for critical hits and abilities that require saving throws, which makes this character a massively powerful BG3 build that can be useful in the frontline. Even a mighty Red Dragon, for example, would attack with a bonus of only +14, hitting Syllee only 20% of the time if the Karmic Dice is turned off.
A build like the one created by Yervax would be perfect for Baldur’s Gate 3’s new Honour Mode, and it could help a player claim the insanely hard “Foehammer” achievement by beating the game in this difficulty. In this game mode, all enemies become much stronger than usual, bosses gain Legendary Actions, which give them extra turns, and there’s a new permadeath feature. In Honour Mode, players can use only one save file, which is erased if their whole party is wiped out.
