Tears of the Kingdom Fan Makes Korok Figure With a Weird Twist

A talented The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sculptor has created a surprising Korok figurine out of clay. Since the game’s release in May, some fans have been making amazing art, including paintings, carvings, and even sculptures, to showcase their love for the game in real life. From a 3D-printed Tears of the Kingdom hoverbike to a floating Sky Island and even a clay-sculpted Light Dragon, players have been captivating the fandom with their incredible talent.

It is easy to see why fans of Tears of the Kingdom are inspired by the game, as it has some of the most striking visual designs when it comes to set pieces, enemies, and NPCs. The Koroks, in particular, have made fans fall in love with them since their debut back in The Wind Waker, thanks to their adorable leaf masks. In both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, these tiny, lovable pals are a source of collectibles called Korok Seeds that can be used to upgrade Link’s inventory of weapons, armor, and bow slots. So, the Koroks’ combined cuteness and usefulness have led players to search for them all across Hyrule in high and low places, just to hear that signature “Ya-haha!” laugh of theirs.

One The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player seemingly can’t get enough of the lovable pals in the game, which has led them to not only sculpt a Korok made out of clay but also paint it. However, this Korok stands out because it is wearing a mask made out of meat rather than the standard leaf. Over on the Zelda subreddit, a user going by the handle Ohsa shared photos of the clay-sculpted Korok, which looks adorable yet scary at the same time, with its face covered with a red meat mask that has jet-black circles to represent its eyes and nose.

According to the sculptor, they created this particular meat Korok for their boyfriend to join a set of eight others with regular leaf masks that they liked to hide around the house. Ohsa also said that the entire process of making the eight figures took three sessions of around one to two hours, with painting the figures taking up most of the time. Many users in the subreddit were impressed with the sculpture, with some even referencing the earlier trend of torturing Koroks in Tears of Kingdom.

While fans have subjected the Koroks to various experiments since the game’s launch, the lovable pals have also captured the hearts of many. For those who would like to showcase their love for the creatures, Nintendo is teaming up with Sanei Boeki, a popular Japanese manufacturing company, to release Tears of the Kingdom-inspired Korok plushies. While there isn’t a US retailer as of yet, with the popularity of Koroks and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo may announce one in the future.

This installment once again sees Link and Zelda battling to protect Hyrule from falling to Ganondorf. This new adventure takes place in the same land of Hyrule as Breath of the Wild but sees something called the Upheaval, which allows link to travel to Sky Islands, as well as deep into the Depths beneath Hyrule. Players can use special abilities to fuse together weapons, and build items to help them progress through the release.
