One Piece: 5 Characters Who Were Misused By Oda
These One Piece characters received the short end of the stick.
While some of these characters rely on pure strength to overwhelm their opponents, others prefer using their quickness to force an opening. The speed that they possess makes them the fastest characters in the series.
Updated on December 23, 2023, by Suzail Ahmad: One Piece is a series that consists of all kinds of strong characters. Most of them are armed with powerful devil fruits that can easily wipe out entire armies with ease. Naturally, characters with such power are not to be trifled with. Instead of being overly dependent on their Devil Fruit abilities, some of them also work on their physical abilities to give them an even bigger advantage in battles. Most focus on strength, but some prefer enhancing their speed, which enables them to dodge attacks more efficiently and close in on their opponent to land a critical hit. With that in mind, here are the fastest characters in One Piece.
12 Brook
Takes Down Opponents Before They Realize What Happened
Brook is the musician of the Straw Hat Pirates. He joined the crew towards the end of the Thriller Bark arc, where the crew helped him regain his shadow. Brook may not be the strongest character in the crew, but he is certainly among the fastest.
According to Oda, Brook would win a 50-meter race between the Straw Hats. The author clarified that Brook is so fast because of his light weight. In combat, Brook has also shown exceptional speed, as he has taken down enemies before they even had the chance to react.
11 Cavendish
Almost Impossible To Stop Him Without Kenbunshoku Haki
Cavendish is one of the many captains in the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. He was introduced in the Dressrosa arc, where he participated in the tournament held inside the Corrida Coliseum and nearly knocked out everyone in his block. It was later revealed that Cavendish had another personality known as Hakuba, which would come out whenever he was sleeping.
In his Hakuba form, Cavendish’s speed increases drastically, and it is almost impossible for normal people to keep up with him. While Cavendish has not appeared in the story for a long time, he is definitely a character fans should keep an eye on.
10 Rob Lucci
Devil Fruit And Rokushiki Make Him Rapid
Lucci has acted as the main antagonist in several arcs. He was trained in the way of assassins at a young age, and he mastered the Rokushuki in next to no time. Due to his talent, he was able to learn the seventh skill, known as Rokuogan.
One Piece: Every Straw Hat, Ranked According To Their Haki
The Straw Hats have taken down many notable enemies, and their Haki has been pivotal in their success.
Lucci can use Soru to bolster his speed in combat, but he can take things further with the help of his Devil Fruit, as it increases his other attributes such as agility, endurance, and strength. After awakening his Devil Fruit, Lucci was able to keep up with Luffy, who was using Gear 5th. There is no denying that Lucci is among the fastest One Piece characters.
9 Kaido
Managed To Blitz Luffy Who Was Using Future Sight
Kaido was one of the Yonko, and he took over Wano with some help from Orochi. Kaido was known as the strongest creature in the world, and he gained the title because of his immense strength. From a young age, he was exposed to wars, which helped him improve his already impressive physical abilities.
Kaido’s massive size fooled many into believing that he was slow, but he actually had incredible speed. This allowed him to blitz Luffy several times, even though the latter was using Future Sight.
8 Trafalgar Law
Devil Fruit Allows To Instantly Swap Places
Trafalgar Law is the captain of the Heart Pirates. He was introduced in the Sabaody Archipelago arc, and it didn’t take long for him to make an impression on the fans. Law has proven himself as a talented fighter who is capable of taking on the likes of Big Mom and Blackbeard.
Law’s reaction speed is quite impressive, but his ability to teleport is what makes him stand out from the rest. He can use the Ope Ope no Mi to switch places with another object instantly. As the action takes place without any delay, it is almost impossible to predict Law’s next move.
7 Enel
Quick As Lightning
Enel was the main antagonist of the Skypiea arc. He was a tyrant who ruled over Skypiea with his priests. When Enel came to Skypiea, it didn’t take long for him to displace Gan Fall as the “God.” Enel’s Goro Goro no Mi played a crucial role in his victory. It enabled him to create and control lightning at will, making him a dangerous opponent.
One Piece: All Known Devil Fruits Of The Rocks Pirates, Ranked
The Rocks Pirates were feared for their strength, and their Devil Fruits played a key role in it.
Enel was able to keep the people of Skypiea in fear by combining Kenbunshoku Haki with his devil fruit. It enabled him to monitor the actions of all the people and punish anyone who tried to raise their voice against him. Due to his control over lightning, Enel was able to move from one place to another almost instantly.
6 Charlotte Katakuri
Devil Fruit And Future Sight Make It Hard To Land A Hit
Charlotte Katakuri is the strongest Sweet Commander of the Big Mom Pirates. He made his debut in the Whole Cake Island arc, where he fought against Luffy. Katakuri was in total control for most of the fight, and he didn’t give Luffy even an inch.
Due to years of fighting, Katakuri has accumulated plenty of experience, so it is almost impossible to defeat him. He was able to keep up with almost all of Luffy’s attacks, which is a huge testament to his skill.
5 Silvers Rayleigh
Went Toe-to-Toe With The Fastest Man
Silvers Rayleigh is one of the few surviving legends from the era of Gol D. Roger. Rayleigh used to be the right-hand man of the Pirate King, but after the crew disbanded, Rayleigh went to live on Sabaody. During the Sabaody Archipelago arc, Rayleigh was able to keep Admiral Kizaru at bay without any problems, which is a big achievement considering his age.
One Piece: 7 Most Expensive Devil Fruits
One Piece has hundreds of Devil Fruits, but these are the toughest to acquire because of their price tags.
When Kizaru was about to finish off the Straw Hats, Rayleigh covered a great distance in a short time to deflect the Admiral’s attack. It is also reasonable to assume that Rayleigh is quicker than Luffy’s Gear Second and possibly even Snakeman. Bearing in mind that Rayleigh was over 70 years old when he fought Kizaru and Luffy, he must have been much faster in his prime.
4 Monkey D. Luffy
Different Gears And Future Sight Allow Him To Dodge All Attacks
Monkey D. Luffy is the captain of the Straw Hats and one of the Yonko. As the main character of the series, Luffy’s progress has been closely monitored by the fans, and it is clear that he has come a long way since he began his journey.
In his base form, Luffy is not super quick, but his devil fruit significantly boosts his speed. Luffy’s speed is at its highest when he is using Gear Fourth Snakeman. While using this form, Luffy was able to outspeed Katakuri multiple times. Furthermore, Luffy’s reaction speed has also improved considerably because of his Advanced Kenbunshoku Haki.
3 Bartholomew Kuma
Can Send Himself Flying At Incredible Speeds
Bartholomew Kuma used to be a member of the Shichibukai before he was turned into a mindless cyborg by Vegapunk. Kuma was feared throughout the world because of his strength. His big stature could trick anyone into believing that he was slow.
However, Kuma is actually quite fast, and it is mainly due to his Nikyu Nikyu no Mi. A person or object that is pawed away by Kuma is sent flying to another location, and the process comes off as instantaneous. This gives opponents the impression that he possesses the power of teleportation. Kuma can also use his devil fruit on himself to move to another place or to simply blitz his opponent.
2 Sanji
Fastest Straw Hat
Sanji is the cook of the Straw Hats, and a member of the Monster Trio. He cemented his status as one of the quickest characters very early in the series. Sanji was able to keep up with the speed of CP9 agents who were able to use Moon Walk, which goes to show that he was already very fast.
After spending two years on Momoiro Island, Sanji’s speed only improved further. He developed Sky Walk and Blue Walk; both of these techniques allow him to move at incredibly high speeds. Sanji uses Sky Walk to travel through the sky. With Blue Walk, he is able to move as fast as a Fishman underwater.
1 Kizaru
Pika Pika no Mi Allows Him To Move At Light Speed
When it comes to quickness, not many anime characters can match Kizaru. He is by far the fastest character in One Piece, and it is mainly due to his devil fruit. Kizaru possesses the Pika Pika no Mi, a Logia-type devil fruit, and it allows him to control light at will.
It also enables him to travel at the speed of light, making him faster than any other One Piece character. So, it is extremely easy for him to chase down a person even if they have a headstart. Given his insane speed, the only way to avoid Kizaru’s attacks is by using Kenbunshoku Haki.
