In The Indigo Disk, the second of two DLC adventures for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can find a variety of new monsters. One of the new monsters, Cranidos, has proven difficult for some players to find. Here is our guide telling you the location where you can find Cranidos.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk – Location where you can find Cranidos
Cranidos is actually pretty easy to spot once you look in the right location, but you have to know where that is. To find Cranidos, look in the Canyon Biome, within the Terarium.
When you enter the Terarium from the main tunnel to Blueberry Academy, you’ll arrive in the wrong biome. Simply turn and head due west until you pass the wall and enter the Canyon Biome. There, look north. You should see a high plateau, with a long bridge leading across to it. There are waterfalls, and platforms extending from its south side like steps. You can approach however you like. I like to use Koraidon to simply climb up the face of the cliff. It’s plenty fast.
At the top of the plateau as you approach from the direction of the bridge, you’ll find lots of grass, with monsters roaming around. In the grass at the top of the plateau, look for the Cranidos. At least for me, there were several lurking in the specific location. I failed to catch the first few, but I got the third one. The map screenshot above shows the precise location where I caught that Cranidos.
Cranidos is exclusive to Pokémon Scarlet
Now for the bad news: you can only catch Cranidos in Pokémon Scarlet. If you are playing the Violet version, you’ll need to trade with a friend or wait for a special event.

Cranidos is a Rock-type Pokémon with some neat abilities, including the Zen Headbutt. It specializes in hitting hard. Sometimes it will use the Head Smash ability. If you’re having trouble getting its life down without knocking it unconscious, try to hold out while it uses the Head Smash move. The recoil chips away at its life meter. Then you can throw an Ultra Ball to finish the catch.
