A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player claimed to discover an Easter egg in The Indigo Disk DLC, in the form of a reference to Pride Rock from the Disney animated film The Lion King. The player recorded a short video of their discovery and posted it on social media, and other Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players chimed in with gratitude and memories of the beloved Disney film.
In The Indigo Disk, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can traverse the undersea Terarium of the Blueberry Academy and discover plenty of Pokemon that have returned to the series after some time away. Some of these Pokemon include all the starters from past Pokemon generations, including Bulbasaur, Torchic, and Froakie. Though the Terarium is smaller than the Paldea region overall, the four distinct biomes ensure that the map has plenty of wonders for Pokemon trainers to discover as they fill up the Pokedex. As a result, one Pokemon player found a unique reference in an appropriate location.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Giving Away Free Paradox Pokemon, But There’s a Catch
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can get free Paradox Pokemon in an upcoming giveaway, but there is a catch that some players need to be aware of.
After making their discovery, a Twitter user named Gen_3_Trainer took to social media to post a video of what they claimed to be a reference to Pride Rock, the home of Simba, and his pride in The Lion King. Fittingly enough, this cleverly hidden rock formation was discovered in the Savannah Biome, where Pokemon such as Litleo and Pyroar can be found. In the video, the OP traveled north from Crispin’s battle arena in the Savannah Biome to where the alleged reference was located. Atop the rock was a male Pyroar, which was later discovered to be a fixed spawn point for the lion-like Pokemon. This led the OP and other Pokemon fans to conclude that the Pyroar was a stand-in for Simba, who laid his eyes upon the Savannah Biome, and all that the light touched.
Originally released in 1994, The Lion King went on to become one of Disney’s top films of all time. In addition to appearances in games such as Disney’s Dreamlight Valley and the Kingdom Hearts series, gamers have made references to The Lion King and Pride Rock in titles such as Halo Infinite. While it is not often that other games outside of Disney’s repertoire make references to these films, the fact that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet made a clever nod to the film in the Savannah Biome did not escape the notice of keen-eyed players.
The OP’s discovery caught the attention of their peers, as the replies ranged from gratitude to memories of the Disney film. As players uncover more hidden secrets in The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, only time will tell what they will find next.
