VOID Interactive’s tactical first-person shooter, Ready or Not, has finally come out of early access and premiered with version 1.0. With the hype around the game surpassing expectations, players are heading into this high-intense game with an open mind but want to look the part. This is why you’re going to want to wear a Balaclava, which we’ve got you covered.
Ready or Not: How to put on the Balaclava
Ready or Not offers players various methods to customize their character, and while you may want the best-looking SWAT vest or have a unique muzzle on your gun, sometimes a simple Balaclava gets the job done.
However, one notable aspect is lacking in the base game: the option to dawn a Balaclava in the customization screen. There is some workaround to do this, and it’s going to involve mods, which isn’t too complicated, especially if you’ve done the process before.
Here are some of the steps to obtain the Balaclava mod in Ready or Not.
- Head over to Nexusmods.com
- Once here, download the appropriate client for your OS, and make an account.
- Now, head over to the Balaclava Addition, add-on, which can be found here.
- If you have the client downloaded, there should be a download-in-client button on the side, but if not, you can download it manually.
- Restart Ready or Not, and the option to wear these Balaclava should be in your character customization screen the next time you load up.

There are some color schemes for the Balaclava that players will get to choose from, such as black or tan, but if you’re looking for some spicy ones, check out the Skull Balaclava mod here as well.
The Balaclava was available during the early access period, but around the fall of 2022, the developers mysteriously removed the feature to add them to our characters. An odd decision to say the least.
Most players, especially those discussing the game on the community forums, were stunned by the move, as it was a layer of immersion that players enjoyed, adding a sneaky yet meaningful ton to their character.
While modding the game is no problem, we’re hoping we can see the addition of this simple yet stellar customization option return to other main games in the coming future.
