Luigi was never playable in Super Mario 64, but new footage that’s surfaced from SpaceWorld 95 gives us a quick glimpse at the character and multiplayer.
Now In Game Channel recently uploaded the full video from a Japanese program on YouTube. Super Mario 64 is only a small segment of the show, and the multiplayer clip with Luigi is just a few seconds long. Still, it’s significant as this is really the only official look we have at present.

You may recall that as part of the massive Nintendo leaks that went around a few years ago, fans found further confirmation that Luigi was once planned to be playable in Super Mario 64. This is also something that franchise creator Shigeru Miyamoto had mentioned.
Fans would soon after restore Luigi’s model in the game by using some of the files that leaked. You can read more about that here.
