Fans know him to be the face of the series and he’s certainly one of the biggest reasons for the popularity of the show. Unfortunately, Gojo hasn’t enjoyed smooth sailing in JJK. He was sealed during the Shibuya incident, in the Culling Game, he was unsealed, only to be killed off in his fight against Sukuna.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Best Gojo Fights
These are Gojo’s very best fights in JJK.
However, while many believe this to be the end of the road for Gojo, there are many hints in the story that suggest he might return and there are many reasons to back this up as well.
5 Reverse Cursed Technique
Gojo Can Heal From Almost Anything
Gojo is an incredible user of Reverse Cursed Technique. Fans have actually seen the moment when he gained full control over his reverse cursed technique in the series. During his fight against Toji, Gojo ended up falling in battle and it was there that he realized how to utilize this power to the fullest.
Gojo was ripped from his throat right to the bottom of the torso and, despite that, he was able to heal from the injury. At the time, Gojo clearly mentioned that the only mistake that Toji made was not to stab his brain. After his death, Gojo could very well return. Sukuna clearly chopped Gojo in half, however, his brain is still intact. Furthermore, moments before Sukuna cut Gojo, it was clearly mentioned that his reverse cursed technique had finally returned to him, courtesy to the numerous black flashes that he landed on Sukuna. There should be no reason as to why his healing wouldn’t come into effect, even if he ended up losing his legs.
4 The Burial Of Geto Suguru
Gojo Wants To Honor His Friend
Gojo and Geto are two characters that are intertwined. They were the best of friends once and their stories have always been connected. Geto was the first one of the two to fall as he was defeated by none other than Yuta and, later, Gojo was the one who passed sentence on him. However, Gojo did not get rid of his body and it was later taken over by Kenjaku. When Sukuna saw Geto’s body once again, he froze and this is what led to his sealing and Shibuya. It is clear for the fans to see that Gojo does not want Kenjaku to violate Geto’s body, at least not when he’s around.
Jujutsu Kaisen: 13 Things You Should Know About Gojo Satoru
Gojo is one of the most popular Jujutsu Kaisen characters, here’s some trivia about him.
When Gojo was unsealed, he made a promise to bury Geto properly in a manner that he deserved. Gojo still sees Geto as his friend and he believes it is responsibility to get rid of Kenjaku and, at the same time, make sure that his best friend rests peacefully. If Gojo doesn’t return, he cannot fulfill his promise.
3 Changing The Jujutsu World
Gojo Has A Dream
One of the biggest reasons why Gojo must return to the story is because he wants to change the Jujutsu world. Gojo possessed the power to completely destroy anyone and everyone in his path, including the higher ups and he could have led the revolution by himself. However, such a revolution would not have been sustainable, and after his death, the world would simply have reverted back to the way it was.
This is why Gojo sought to change the order from the inside out. This is exactly why he ended up becoming a teacher and decided to raise the next generation in a way where they would carry out this revolution with him. Gojo cannot simply die and let his dream hang and even though other students might carry out his will, Gojo has to be present to witness the future that they build.
2 Watching Over Yuji And The Next Generation
Gojo Has A Responsibility
It is Gojo’s responsibility to watch over the blooming young generation in JJK and, if he isn’t around, then they will have absolutely no one to watch over them. While it is true that the young generation in JJK is now progressing at a blazing speed and certainly do not need protection, Gojo must still be there to guide them to their goals.
They are still very young and even someone as strong as Yuta needs guidance from him. For this reason, Gojo’s return in JJK is an absolute must.
1 Finding His True Self
Gojo’s Eventual Story Arc
When Gojo ended up dying, Nanami mentioned that one can either head south and stay the way they are or, they can head north and seek a newer version of themselves. For Nanami and many others, such as Haibara, staying in the south was what they wanted, given that they did not want to change who they are, however, Gojo is certainly different. Gojo might actually end up going north and seek a newer version of himself.
Furthermore, Gojo still hasn’t found his true self and this journey north might help him look inward. When Gojo and Geto split up, Geto posed a very important question to him on whether he was the strongest because he was Gojo or if he was Gojo because he was the strongest. This is a question that Gojo still hasn’t found an answer to. He has been described as the strongest his entire life, however, if and when he returns, Gojo would not be the strongest any longer and would simply have to live life as his true self.
