Tallinn based virtual reality studio Maru VR announced their upcoming VR game Bootstrap Island will launch on Steam Early Access on February 22, 2024.
Today Maru VR revealed a new trailer during UploadVR’s Winter 2023 Showcase, announcing the early access release date for Bootstrap Island on Steam.
PCVR players will be excited to learn that the much anticipated 17th century virtual reality survival game is set to launch on Feb 22, 2024, with a full release slated for 2025.
Focused entirely on VR headsets like Valve Index, and Meta (Oculus) Quest PC-link devices; Bootstrap Island offers a realistic survival adventure in an immersive, yet comfortable VR experience designed with minimal menus and natural feeling controls.
Following their recent appearance at Steam Next Fest, Maru VR has returned with an updated demo that incorporates much of the feedback received over the past few months. VR players will get a chance to test out the latest version of Bootstrap Island this week during Steam VR Fest (December 4-11th), finding themselves shipwrecked on a mysterious tropical island in the 17th century. They will need to quickly learn to adapt and survive by exploring for food and drink, collecting materials to make fire; and surviving the dark night from being attacked by ferocious beasts.
