Today, Honkai: Star Rail developer HoYoverse revealed a new character coming to the game and several changes scheduled for version 2.0.
First of all, we get to take a look at Black Swan showcased on X (formerly Twitter). She’s a five-star Wind character following the path of Nihility.
Her release date has not been revealed just yet, but we saw her briefly in the trailer presented at The Game Awards.
We also know that she’s voiced in English by Arryn Zech and in Japanese by Hitomi Nabatame. She’s a veteran voice actress that you may know as Cryska Barchenowa in Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse, Amy in the SoulCalibur series, Millie Chliette in Star Ocean, and many more relevant roles.
Black Swan is described as follows:
“If I can identify and encapsulate a fragment of memory before it’s unveiled to the world, those solitary moments of delight are my most favored and unique memories.”
A Memokeeper of the Garden of Recollection. A mysterious and elegant soothsayer. Bears a warm smile and is willing to patiently heed the words of another, and thus uses such means as a pretext to enter “memories” and gain a comprehension over the flow of all information.
Feels strongly about collecting unique memories, yet the thoughts that guide her are hard to glean.
We also get plenty of information about changes coming in version 2.0, which was also teased at The Game Awards (where the game won the Best Mobile award).
For Relics, it’ll be possible to select an “enhance to the next stage” option when adding materials automatically, allowing the enhancement to reach levels where new random stats are gained or increased.
When salvaging 5-star relics, you’ll have a chance to pick either Lost Gold Fragmens or Relic Remains. The Discard Relic feature will also become available.
The filter function will be enhanced with the ability to exclude stats that you don’t need or to narrow down the selections. When you select a specific set piece, only the filter will display relics with applicable set bonuses and stats
A much-welcome Relic Set Recommendation is also coming, providing guidance on which relics to use based on the analysis of data from other players.
A universal path material called Tears of Dreams will be introduced in Version 1.6, with the ability to replace all other Path Materials when evolving traces or light cones. Some of these will come for free via the mailbox.
Since more characters will be added, more Path Materials will also appear, with several Crimson Calyx stages added to the new area of Penacony to let you farm them.
Back to 2.0, Golden Calyx stages will also drop materials that can now be obtained by defeating regular enemies.
The new Orlay Crossroads system will display quests in a tree according to their timeline and location, allowing players to access each more easily.
Lastly, the Light Cone Manifest store category will have new Light Cones for sale when 2.0 launches.
Incidentally, if you want to hear more about version 1.6, it’ll be fully revealed on December 15 and it’ll be titled “Crown of the Mundane and Divine.” Of course, you can expect a full report here on TechRaptor.
Honkai: Star Rail is currently available on PC, PS5, iOS, and Android. HoYoverse recently announced that the PS5 port has surpassed a million users in about a month. We also saw the latest trailers showcasing the new character Argenti.
