Scramblecoin is a mini-game introduced in Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s A Rift in Time update that lets you compete against your favorite Disney characters. While a pretty straightforward, turn-based board game, several of its rules and steps might leave you a bit scrambled or confused about how to play Scramblecoin in Disney Dreamlight Valley, what buttons to press, and ultimately, how to win.
Playing Scramblecoin also helps unlock more Disney character figurines to use in the game via an unlock progression system, and each has different movement paths, abilities, or starting locations. Scramblecoin can also be fun and addictive once you know how to play.

How To Play Scramblecoin in Disney Dreamlight Valley (Game Rules)
After choosing five figurines, the match can begin. You always get the first turn and there are only five turns in total. To play a game of Scramblecoin in Disney Dreamlight Valley, follow these steps:
- Choose and place one Figurine on the board, taking note of the position of Star Coins.
- Click on the placed Figurine to move – it turns yellow when selected. Squares or tiles that turn blue indicate where the Figurine can move, ideally collecting silver coins worth one point or gold coins worth three points.
- Click the desired square on the board to move the Figurine to it, turning the movement pathway yellow, and confirm the movement.
- If you have no more Figurines on the board, it’s the opponent’s turn.
- During your second turn, they get to decide whether they want to add another Figurine to the board before tarting their turn but can only have a maximum of three on the board at a time. If you don’t want to add another Figurine to the board, you can select skip to begin their turn following steps one to three for each of your Figurines on the board. You can also place Figurines on top of one another to replace them with a different piece.
- Steps one through five repeat until you have the most Star Coins in the given turn.
Tips For How To Win Scramblecoin In Disney Dreamlight Valley
While you still get ranking points if you lose a match, there are a few handy tips to help win Scramblecoin:
- Prioritize collecting the yellow groups of Star Coins to help take the lead.
- Think carefully about the Figurine’s spawn point location in relation to the position of Star Coins on the board. For instance, if many coins are positioned diagonally, choosing Minnie could be a good strategy.
- You don’t have to put all three Figurines on the Board at once, so try to adapt your tactics. You can always swap them out for one with a more suitable movement pattern as needed.
Once you beat Mickey at Scramblecoin and talk to him again, this completes ‘A Game of Coins’ and you can now challenge other villagers to the game anywhere in the Valley.
