Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s A Rift in Time expansion adds a significant amount of content to the beloved life simulation game. This expansion introduces Eternity Isle, a magical new area with three expansive biomes, each offering unique areas for players to explore that are rich with new quests, treasures, mysteries, and more.
Each of these new zones features a variety of new materials for the player to collect, including new ingredients and crafting materials. While many of these new additions are available for players to collect as soon as they gain access to a new biome, some are only accessible after certain conditions are met, or new areas have been unlocked.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: All Cooking Recipes
With the help of this guide, players can learn the recipes to cook every meal in Disney Dreamlight Valley and the A Rift in Time expansion.
One of A Rift in Time’s ingredient additions is Ruby Lentils, a new vegetable used in a variety of cooking recipes. Like many of the game’s vegetables, Ruby Lentils are obtained via planting, growing, and harvesting seeds. Here’s how players can get Ruby Lentil Seeds and Ruby Lentils in Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time.
Where to Get Ruby Lentils
Ruby Lentils are one of 27 new cooking ingredients added in Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time. With these new additions, the game boasts over 300 cooking recipes, offering players a vast array of culinary options using ingredients from both the Valley and Eternity Isle.
Ruby Lentils are grown from Ruby Lentil Seeds. These seeds are available at Goofy’s Stall located in The Grasslands area of the Wild Tangle biome. The seeds cost 250 Star Coins per bag and can be purchased in unlimited quantities.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Unlock Rapunzel
Players will need to complete The Ancient Door, The Sundial, and The Tower quests to unlock Rapunzel in DDV. Here’s how they can do so.
Before purchasing Ruby Lentil Seeds, players need to first repair Goofy’s Stall in the Wild Tangle. To do so, interact with the Scrooge McDuck sign and spend Star Coins to reopen the Stall, then speak with Scrooge McDuck to pay and fully upgrade the Stall. Each upgrade broadens the range of items available for sale at the Stall.
Goofy’s Stall must be upgraded twice before it starts selling Ruby Lentil Seeds.
The Wild Tangle offers four unlockable areas to which the player can gain access by spending Mist, A Rift in Time’s equivalent to Dreamlight. Thankfully, players will be able to access Goofy’s Stall in Wild Tangle shortly after gaining access to the biome after completing the quest “The Sands in the Hourglass.”
Alternatively, Ruby Lentil Seeds can be found by clearing Splinters of Fate in the Wind Tangle areas, including The Grasslands, The Grove, The Promenade, and The Lagoon. Splinters of Fate are akin to the Night Thorns found in other parts of the game, and players can remove them through interaction, potentially discovering Ruby Lentil Seeds in the process.
How to Grow Ruby Lentils
After acquiring the Ruby Lentil Seeds, players can plant them in any suitable location within the game world. The growth cycle for Ruby Lentils is set to 2 real-world hours, and each plant yields 3 Ruby Lentils. To maximize their harvest, players should consider bringing along a companion skilled in the Gardening role. A high friendship level with this companion increases the likelihood of finding additional items during the harvesting process.
What Are Ruby Lentils Used For
Ruby Lentils are used in just two new recipes added in A Rift in Time: Crimson Burger and Ruby Masoor Dal. Future updates may add additional recipes that this ingredient can be used for, but for now these are the only uses for Ruby Lentils in cooking.
