It looks like Baldur’s Gate 3 has quietly released on Xbox right as the game picked up the top award at this year’s the Game Awards 2023 – despite no formal announcement being made during the show.
Though many suspected it’d happen, there was no formal announcement during the show despite the game picking up several awards, including Best RPG, Best Multiplayer and the fan-voted Player’s Voice award. A tweet did come from Larian Studios a few minutes after the show wrapped, however confirming the release of the game we gave a perfect 10 in our Baldur’s Gate 3 review.
The game first originally released first for PC in August, before landing on the PlayStation 5 about a month later. Xbox owners were left waiting in the dark, sadly, for some time as the game lapped up plaudits and praise from gamers and outlets alike, but were promised that a version for their consoles was on the way, pending some minor issues with split screen co-op. However, it seems those issues have finally been resolved, and the game is now available via the Xbox store.
