In a feat that may leave adult gamers feeling their age, a 7-year-old The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player pulled off the impressive feat of defeating Ganondorf using only Flurry Rush attacks. Not only did this youngster manage to bring down the Demon King all by himself, he did it with style.
Ganondorf has been The Legend of Zelda’s main big bad for decades now, yet Tears of the Kingdom‘s take on the character manages to do a great job establishing just how much of a threat the latest take on the villain is. From shattering Link’s Master Sword and raising Hyrule Castle into the air in the game’s opening minutes, to the legions of monsters players face across the map, the threat of Ganondorf is a constant presence throughout Tears of the Kingdom, building up to a harrowing and dramatic final showdown for the fate of Hyrule. Or it would be if some players weren’t able to make crushing Ganondorf look trivial.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player Deletes Enemy With Scary Elevator
A crafty Tears of the Kingdom player demonstrates a stylish method for deleting enemies by utilizing a scary-looking elevator.
Reddit user SwicaDad’s 7-year-old son is one such player. In a clip they shared, the young Tears of the Kingdom player can be seen effortlessly destroying Ganondorf with only Flurry Rushes, patiently waiting for Ganondorf’s attacks, dodging at the last moment, and wailing on him repeatedly until he finally falls. As an added flex, he pulls this off without any armor equipped, making it clear that he’s able to defeat one of the game’s hardest bosses without taking a hit.
Such a feat is impressive regardless of how old the player is, but then again, according to SwicaDad, this is their kid’s 22nd time defeating Ganondorf. After beating him so many times, it’s no surprise he’s able to humiliate Ganondorf so flawlessly, and it explains how he’s able to ace a Flurry Rush-only challenge. Understandably, fellow Reddit users were impressed with the skill of SwicaDad’s son, sharing an equal mix of praise for his skill and jokes about how old they feel watching a 7-year-old dominate a fight many other players struggle with.
It just goes to show that The Legend of Zelda remains a series that draws in fans of all ages, and that Tears of the Kingdom has done a particularly good job of it, having already become one of the all-time best-selling Nintendo Switch after just six months on the market. And with Tears of the Kingdom up for several awards at The Game Awards 2023, including the coveted Game of the Year, it may very well receive even more recognition before long.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to the beloved open-world adventure, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This installment once again sees Link and Zelda battling to protect Hyrule from falling to Ganondorf. This new adventure takes place in the same land of Hyrule as Breath of the Wild but sees something called the Upheaval, which allows link to travel to Sky Islands, as well as deep into the Depths beneath Hyrule. Players can use special abilities to fuse together weapons, and build items to help them progress through the release.
