Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the best comeback stories for any video game. It has had a fantastic retribution since its buggy launch back in 2020, and this year has been especially great with the Phantom Liberty expansion. CD Projekt RED has announced an Ultimate edition, and they have also now announced the release date for a free Cyberpunk 2077 2.1 update. The contents of this update haven’t been revealed yet, but they will be dished in an upcoming livestream everyone can watch.
The Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition is basically the full experience. It comes out in December, and it will include both the main game as well as Phantom Liberty. It’s important to note that, for consoles, it will be only PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as CD Projekt RED’s 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty expansion are exclusive to current-gen systems. If you haven’t played Phantom Liberty or CP2077, then the Ultimate edition is a must as it’s a brilliant game and no longer a horrifically buggy mess.
While everyone thought the Ultimate edition would be the end of the game, CD Projekt RED has announced that there is a free 2.1 update coming out for players. Here’s when you can expect it to drop.
Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.1 release date
The release date for Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.1 is Tuesday, December 5th, 2023. CDPR will launch the upcoming patch on the same day as the much-anticipated Ultimate edition. However, keep in mind that you cannot pre-order the Ultimate edition as of yet since it will only be available to buy physically and digitally on opening day.
Again, the Ultimate edition is CP2077 and Phantom Liberty in one package. It includes every update released for the game, including patch 2.0, new weapons, added vehicles, unique clothes, and all other free pieces of DLC. As for the free 2.1 update, it is said to include ‘new and hotly anticipated gameplay elements’. It will be free for Cyberpunk 2077 owners on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The contents of the update have finally been revealed after CD Projekt RED’s live stream concluded on December 1 at 7 AM PT/ 10 AM ET/ 3 PM GMT. As previously revealed by CyberpunkGame on X (formerly Twitter), you will be able to watch the live stream over on CD Projekt RED‘s Twitch channel.
