Rockstar has officially revealed the premiere date for the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer.
The hotly-anticipated first look at the upcoming open-world crime sandbox (we assume, at least) will arrive on December 5th at 9am Eastern, which is 6am Pacific. Better set your alarm early for this one.
Rockstar first announced back in early November it would reveal the inaugural Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer this month, but we now have a concrete date.
The backdrop for Rockstar’s trailer date reveal is flanked by palm trees and has a pinkish-yellow hue, suggesting that the game will indeed be set in Vice City, or at least some other analog of Miami.
That’s certainly what the now-infamous leaks from July last year seemed to suggest, along with a female protagonist and a focus on something approaching a live-service model.
Rockstar subsequently responded to those leaks, confirming their veracity but also acknowledging the studio was “extremely disappointed” GTA 6 had been revealed in this way.
It’s fair to say that Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most hotly-anticipated projects in the gaming industry right now, although there’s a lot about it we still don’t know.
The title still hasn’t been confirmed as Grand Theft Auto 6, for instance, and we don’t know much about the story or gameplay innovations the new game will bring to the series.
We do, however, know that Grand Theft Auto 5 stood at 190 million units sold at last count, so the existence of Grand Theft Auto 6 probably shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise.
Stay tuned for more info about the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer as soon as we get it. Suffice to say if any game trailer is going to break the internet just by existing, it’ll be this one.
