Square Enix has announced the Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis PC release date.
The gacha RPG, which is currently available on iOS and Android devices, will land on PC via Steam on December 7th, although that date pertains to Japanese time, so the date in other regions might vary slightly.
This news comes after Ever Crisis received a Steam page and PC system requirements earlier this month, with even the recommended settings requiring a relatively low-powered rig to enjoy.
If you’re not familiar with Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, it’s a mobile RPG that serves as a reimagining of the story of Final Fantasy VII and much of its ancillary media.
This is a distinct project from Final Fantasy VII Remake and its upcoming sequel Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, although it does borrow elements from that project, as well as Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion.
As well as the base Final Fantasy VII, Ever Crisis also draws on additional stories like Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, and the aforementioned Crisis Core.
Visually, the game features a twist on the classic super-deformed visual style of the original Final Fantasy VII, although the aesthetic becomes more realistic when characters enter battle, just as in the original game.
In addition to revisiting various stories from the Final Fantasy VII universe, Ever Crisis also tells a few of its own, including “the never-before-told story of a young hero, Sephiroth”.
The game allows you to create iconic combinations of Final Fantasy VII characters in battle, customizing them with weapons and gear in either solo play or co-op multiplayer.
Ever Crisis was originally released for mobiles back in September, so PC players have only had to wait a few months to get their hands on this new entry into the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII.
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is set to land on Steam on December 7th. Stay tuned for more.
