The Dragon’s Dogma 2 release date appears to have been leaked on its official Steam page ahead of an announcement later today.
On the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Steam page, a release date of March 22nd is listed, even though Capcom has stated it will officially unveil the release date during a gameplay showcase later on.
This release date listing would, however, corroborate another, earlier leak on the part of European ratings board PEGI, which also listed a release date of March 22nd for Dragon’s Dogma 2.
The Dragon’s Dogma 2 showcase in which Capcom will presumably be announcing this selfsame release date is set to air at 4pm Eastern (that’s 1pm Pacific and 9pm GMT).
Not only will the release date be unveiled, but new gameplay for Dragon’s Dogma 2 will also be shown, so if you’re excited for the action RPG, make sure to tune in.
If you’ve somehow missed out on the Dragon’s Dogma 2 hype, it is, naturally, the sequel to the 2012 action RPG Dragon’s Dogma.
It’ll expand on many of the systems introduced in the original game, including the pawn companion system and the ability to climb onto monsters.
Our very own Giuseppe got to chat with Dragon’s Dogma 2 director Hideaki Itsuno and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, and they shared more information about how the game will work in that chat.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will feature a world roughly four times the size of the original game’s, but that won’t just be in size terms; it’ll also apply to activity density, so you’ll have much more to do.
In addition, monsters will now have roaming areas and behavioral attack patterns, so you might disrupt a griffon while it’s hunting for prey, for instance.
We’ll find out more about Dragon’s Dogma 2 and how it will improve on the original game during today’s gameplay showcase. Stay tuned for more.
