A surprise victor has shot to number one in the latest UK boxed sales charts data, pushing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 down to second place.
Wizarding RPG Hogwarts Legacy has claimed the top spot for the week ending November 18th, likely due to a combination of its long-awaited release on Switch and early Black Friday discounts (thanks, GamesIndustry.biz).
This is the second time Warner Bros’ open-world game has shot back to number one after several months out of the limelight, with the last being back in May when it arrived on PS4 and Xbox One.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is still at number two, so while it hasn’t been able to retain last week’s number one spot, it’s still doing pretty well for itself.
In third place, it’s EA Sports FC 24, which, judging by active account numbers, we can expect to see in the top ten for a very long time to come.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 occupies fourth place, and in fifth, it’s Spider-Man 2‘s old sparring partner Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Again, those two will likely be around for a while yet.
Sixth place goes to a new entry in the form of Super Mario RPG, a remake of the classic 1996 SNES game. This one was developed by longtime Dragon Quest remake and remaster studio ArtePiazza.
In seventh place, it’s another new entry in the form of Bluey: The Videogame, proving that the little dog’s dominance is not to be trifled with.
Eighth place goes to Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and in ninth, it’s Nintendo Switch Sports. Looks like the demand for family entertainment is creeping up in the run-up to the holidays, perhaps?
In tenth place, it’s another surprise re-entry in the form of Mortal Kombat 1, which has leapt up from the lowly place of 33 last week to claim the final top ten spot.
Eleventh through fifteenth places are as follows: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, Minecraft, and Gran Turismo 7.
