Frostpunk 2 and The Invincible developer 11 bit studios has teamed up with tech company AMD for several of the former’s upcoming projects.
AMD’s tech will power the aforementioned two games, as well as The Alters and Codename Project 8. The Thaumaturge, developed by Fool’s Theory, will also be part of the AMD partnership.
According to 11 bit, this partnership will allow the developer to include AMD technology like FSR 3 in its games, leading to “maximize[d] performance and visual fidelity” on AMD processors and GPUs.
To commemorate the partnership, 11 bit and AMD have also released a brand new trailer for upcoming sci-fi adventure The Invincible, which TechRaptor’s Don called “promising” in his preview.
The trailer shows The Invincible running at 8K resolution on a Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU, so if, for some reason, you have an 8K display, now’s the time to enjoy it.
11 bit board member Pawel Feldman says that “establishing cooperation with a top global tech company” is paramount for the studio to “[step] up as a developer and publisher”.
The studio’s director of technology, Szymon Jabłoński, says that teaming up with AMD will help 11 bit to face the “exciting challenge” of “push[ing] gaming technology further” with its releases.
Naturally, if you’re running an Nvidia GPU, you’ll still be able to enjoy 11 bit’s games, but they’ll be optimized primarily for AMD rigs going forward, it seems.
11 bit’s upcoming slate of projects includes Frostpunk 2, the sequel to the much-loved wintry survival city-builder, which is due to arrive sometime next year.
Other games on the slate include weird sci-fi adventure The Alters, old-school “atompunk” narrative adventure The Invincible, and isometric RPG The Thaumaturge.
The latter project is being developed by Fool’s Theory, which is also currently working on the upcoming Witcher remake announced by CD Projekt Red in October last year.
