While Ubisoft celebrates the player numbers for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, a throwback to the series’ trademark stealth and parkour, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag celebrates a new milestone. Since launching on October 29th 2013, it’s had over 34 million players.
Set in the Golden Age of Piracy, the open-world action-adventure stars Edward Kenway and his journey from lowly pirate to legendary Assassin. The title expands on the naval aspects introduced in Assassin’s Creed 3, providing players with a ship, the Jackdaw, to upgrade. You can also recruit crew members, battle and board other ships and assail forts.
The Caribbean setting is also unique, offering islands with side quests, targets to assassinate, treasure and much more. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is playable on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, Nintendo Switch and PC. It’s garnered extensive acclaim and is considered a high point for the franchise.
