The time-traveling gacha Reverse: 1999 is full of charismatic and mysterious characters, but which ones should join your team?

Well, the answer is usually whatever character you think is the coolest, but if you want to be the strongest, then you have some work to do.

As part of the launch celebration, the game is running banners for:

  • Lilya, Eternity, and Regulus
  • Sotheby
  • A Knight
  • Druvis III and Regulus

The game’s most desirable characters at the moment are:

Damage Dealers:

  • Centurion
  • Charlie
  • Eternity
  • Lilya
  • Regulus

Support:

  • An-an Lee
  • Bkornblume
  • Voyager

Survival:

  • Balloon Party
  • Medicine Pocket

Keep in mind that the list above is missing character’s from the game’s Chinese version, as they are not present in the global release yet.

So, the question is: Should you pull for characters now? And if so, which ones?

The main characters you would want right now are Regulus and Eternity, as they are both exceptional during the early and late game. This means that out of the four banners currently ongoing, only the first one is really worth it if we’re going by the meta.

Thankfully, the first banner is permanent, and has a 30 pulls pity system, which guarantees a 6 star character. It is recommended that players go for this banner, as it gives them 2 in 3 chances of pulling a meta character.

“What happens if I pull Lilya instead of Eternity or Regulus?”

Lilya is considered an S-tier damage dealer in late game situations, but has a pretty weak early game performance. Pulling her is not the end of the world, but she’s the least desirable character out of the three currently available meta choices. You have the option to reroll by restarting the game and trying your luck again, but it’s not 100% necessary.

Characters like A Sword, Sotheby, and Druvis III are still considered A tier, so there’s no shame in pulling for them if you enjoy their designs and gameplay as well. At the end of the day, building a team you enjoy is the most important part of the game, even if it’s not completely filled by S-tier characters.

Reverse: 1999 is now available for free on Android, iOS, and Microsoft Windows (through their official website).
