Motive Studio General Manager Patrick Klaus has brought a tidbit of information regarding their upcoming Iron Man game to light through a concise blog post detailing their team’s recent work. Though exact information on the Tony Stark-led project’s gameplay and setting is yet to be revealed, Klaus has stated that it is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, meaning those looking forward to it can expect sophisticated graphics along with current-gen console exclusivity.

Back in September 2022, EA announced their intention to release a game centering on the genius-billionaire-playboy-philanthropist through a statement from Marvel Games VP Bill Roseman. Unfortunately, details have remained scarce since then, as both publisher and developer have primarily kept the highly anticipated project under wraps. Following Motive Studios’ release of their celebrated Dead Space Remake, however, more information is steadily being provided by the team’s higher-ups.

Patrick Klaus started off his statement by expressing his appreciation for the praise that the aforementioned remake received. Klaus then said: “Since then, our focus has switched to the Iron Man project, giving us the opportunity to work (and play!) with another extraordinary property. We’re still early in pre-production and [are] taking our time to make sure we set the best possible foundation for development.”

“But already, we’re finding so many opportunities to explore story, design, and gameplay with Iron Man, and it’s exciting to see the fantasy start coming alive,” he continued. “Even this early in the process, we’ve put in place a Community Council made up of Iron Man and Marvel fans; as with Dead Space, they’ll be offering feedback on pretty much everything throughout the development process.” “Meanwhile, we’ve chosen Unreal Engine 5 as our game engine, in order to empower the dev team to work their magic and create something really special,” Klaus finished.

With Iron Man still in its pre-production phase, it may not be a while until the community gets an actual glimpse of the finished product in all its Unreal Engine 5 glory. But if their previous creation in the Dead Space Remake is anything to go by, then their upcoming game should be an equally exciting and enjoyable experience.
