I don’t know whose idea it was to give a wizard a gun, but either way, it turns out it is very effective. This new resource-collecting rogue-lite game from Galvanic Games combines wizardry with weaponry. The result is infused bullets that can tear through the Chaos that threatens the very existence of the world. In the early game, you will be able to pick up a few weapons here and there, but knowing which are best and where to get them in Wizard With a Gun will help you get ahead.
Best early-game weapons in Wizard with a Gun
Every one of the early-game weapons you pick up will be under the name “Shabby.” This pretty much sums them up. However, each weapon is suited to a different playstyle, and each can be found in a different place.
Where to find the Shabby Revolver
I found myself using this Shabby Revolver more than any other weapon. It is able to hold two different types of ammo and has a decent enough range and average-sized clip. It may not have the fire rate and range of the other two weapons, but it is the best for me.
You can pick this weapon up very early by either crafting it at the bench, buying it from the merchant, or picking it up from the revolver enemies in the world. You can craft it with 5 wood and 10 metal scrap.
Where to find the Shabby Carbine
I never took to this weapon, particularly as I didn’t find that I enjoyed playing with a ranged early-game weapon in Wizard With a Gun. It has a slow reload, but it is accurate at long range and does some pretty good damage too. It is possible to carry two loads of ammo.
The carbine can be picked up from carbine-wielding enemies found in forts around the map. You can also craft it in the game at the merchant or on your own workbench. It will cost 5 wood and 10 metal scrap.
Where to find the Shabby SMG
Now the SMG is also another favorite of mine. It may even be the best early-game weapon in Wizard With a Gun. The high-capacity ammo and ridiculously short one-second reload time make it an absolute bullet storm. If you can load up two decent types of ammo into it, you can defeat enemies and even bosses in no time. The only issue is the range and speed you run out of bullets.
You can craft this on the map by visiting the merchant or by building it at your own craft bench in Wizard With a Gun. You will need 5 wood and 10 metal scraps.
