Don’t Scream invites a fresh take on the Horror game genre. This timeless genre needed something new to shake up the thrill seeker fans, and Don’t Scream provides that scare effortlessly. With the required addition that you play with a microphone enabled, Don’t Scare is a simple game that is inspired by The Blair Witch Project, that invites you to walk an eerie forest. If you scream, you restart!

Shh! Enchanted with a found footage art style, the game is a short story that invites you to explore a dense forest through the POV of a 90’s camcorder. Joure and Joe, The two solo devs behind this project somehow nailed the realism when creating the scenery for this game, which only adds to the fright of what lurks beyond the loneliness.

With only courage and a microphone your only goal is to explore the forest for 18 tense and agonising minutes. The clock only ticks on when you move, meaning you are forced to explore the dynamic surroundings. As the game title implies, don’t scream! For if you do, the experience restarts.

How Does It Work?

The game aims to scare through psychological horror, with built tension and atmosphere. You can talk as you play, so long as you aren’t too expressive with your words. However, as soon as the game triggers you to yelp, whimper or scream, you’ll restart. Ideally this game would be great for the overly-expressive streamers, though there’s also fun in scaring yourself or friends if you get them in on the action.

There is an early access available for this game starting from October 27th! Plus, you can wish list the game on Steam, so why not check it out.
