Deep Rock Galactic and the Bullet Heaven genre is a combination I never knew I needed. It seems that treacherous mining operations are just as dangerous in 3rd person as in 1st, so much so that the company offers Supply Drops to help out. The question is, what are the good rewards? With the dangerous swarms of enemies, picking the right one is crucial. Here are the best Supply Drop upgrades in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor.

At the time of writing, there are 4 Supply Drop rewards which grant the following:

  • Nitra Scanner: There is a small chance to find Nitra when mining
  • Gold Scanner: There is a small chance to find Gold when mining
  • Red Sugar Cube: Collecting Red Sugar increases max HP by 2
  • XP Scanner: There is a small chance to find XP when mining.

All these drops are helpful, but in my experience, the XP Scanner is the best. More XP means you level up faster and gain access to rewards quicker.

Common and Uncommon grade level-up rewards aren’t game-changing, but they do add up. Epic and Legendary bonuses can transform a run that’s in a death spiral into a win in an instant. On that basis alone, even a small XP boost is worth grabbing whenever you can.

The Nitra Scanner is excellent for second place as you can spend Nitra between stages. Like level-up rewards, these can be game-changing but more limited as you won’t obtain them as often.

We have the Red Sugar Cube and Gold Scanner at the back of the pack. Gold seems plentiful in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, and although more is good, I wouldn’t prioritize it. If the Red Sugar Cube granted a more significant health buff, it might be worth grabbing. As it stands, the Sugar Cube grants a measly bonus of 2 max HP. For comparison, the common tier of Extra Rations gives +10.

Ultimately, 2HP won’t save you from contact damage, let alone an explosion.

Do Supply Drop rewards stack?

Although Supply Drop rewards are small, they do stack. This means you can focus on a single perk during each stage to yield greater rewards overall. It may take a while to reap visible rewards, but they do add up.

Alternatively, you can mix and match to patch up holes in your build.
